| The limitation of teams of the same country in UCL is 4 teams, so if a team of a country on top 3 wins the UCL and does not finish at least 4th in the league qualifies automatically as Holder, and also the Champion and Runner up qualify automatically. The 3rd placed team joins the 3rd qualification round and, unfortunely, the 4th placed team does not qualify fot the UCL, but for the UEFA Cup. The reason is that in case we had 5 teams of the same country and all qualified, then there would be 2 teams of the same country in the same group, on 2nd group stage. There are also TV rights as concerns the 1st group stage. In case Bayern won this season's UCL and finish 4th or 5th in 1.Bundesliga, then, since Germany is seeded 3 teams, they would qualify as Holders, as any other holder, no matter what. The German Champion, with the German Runner Up, would enter immediately the groups, while teh 3rd placed german team would enter the 3rd qualification round. |
