Brugge is a subtopper in europe,once in the two years in champions league, never last in the group, neither in second round. I think that Zenit have good chance against Crvena Zvezda, because it almost 4 years in succession is one of the leaders of Russian Premier-Liga (excluding 2002). Zenit have good players from Russian, Ukrainian, Czech and Macedonian national team, good trainer Vlastimil Petrzela, which 2 years at the head of team and good financial. I know that CZ is one of two grands of Serbian football, I know that Serbian football players are very stronge, but now players leave Serbian football. Now in CZ play players of 1981-1983 years born. Zenit is not old too, but slightly more senior, maybe slightly more skilled. Your reason? |

I've seen people pick an underdog and someone else call them "stupid" for doing so. And then the underdog wins. I think it would smart for people to keep their mouth shut until the games are played. Date: 28-08-2004, 23:01 | Crvena Zvezda supporters aren't too thrilled to be facing Zenit in the first round because they think the other 4 teams are a much easier opponent and Partizan had a terrible draw as well. Zvezda did not want Zenit beacuse they're in great form right now and the Russian season is at midpoint while Serbian league has just started. Zvezda players are unexperienced as the average age of the team is only 21 years old and this is a disadvantage when you play in Europe. Usually when i watch Zvezda away they're a different team because they play so bad for saome reason but at home they can beat anyone, that's just their mentality. But just to let you know, the media in Belgrade is not underestimating Zenit and neither is the coach Ljupko Petrovic. Crvena Zvezda plays Zemun tomorrow and I hope they can win after what happened with PSV. |

It is a very long shot but I will not be suprised if there will be a lot of trouble for NC. Petakh-Tikva - Heerenveen: don't know a thing about Heerenveen, but it looks like they also have a shity start of season, and I'm always not sure about the quality of the lesser team from greece and the netherlands as they seem to ride the tide of the big 3 teams in their country without much success of their own. Petach-Tikva for now it is an unexpected team, one day they lose 3-0 and the next win 4-0 against the same team. If P-T will be in good shape, they may win. Haifa-Dnipro: Very bad draw for Haifa. Dnipro reached round 3 last year so they have to know how to play football. Key point IMO will be if they will succeed to score two goals in israel, as haifa almost for sure will score in ukrain. Decision by away goals or penalties is the most likely outcome. Millwall - Ferencvárosi: Ferencvárosi is a better team, they will qualify. Austria Wien - Legia Warszawa: It is time that the austian football will start to recover its position in europe, IMO an open game. Sporting Club de PortugalSK - Rapid Wien: same as above. Hafnarfjördur - Alemannia Aachen: I don't care that aachen is german team. They are in the second league and german national team had problems with Iceland. Aachen have to prove that they deserved the ticket to round one, I'm not sure they did. Middlesbrough - Baník Ostrava: Middlesbrough (IIRC) first time in UC, and Chech champions should not be under-estimated. PAOK - Alkmaar: Maybe it is just because I saw PAOK play and wasn't impressed. |

I tink that p-t just had a bad day in cyprus, you must remember that they are playing without a player from africa, who will play this round, Prince Daya (or how his name is). i think that p-t is a good team, but they don't have a lot of fans, so it's not so good, to not have a big crowd that will support you. i think that here p-t can win, but in holland they will lose, for sure. about haifa - fnipro. i don't know so much about the ukranian, but one think i do know, and that haifa much better team, who's hungry for succses in the uefa cup, beacose of the elimination against rosenbourg. about newcastle - sahknin...i think that in that game should come here in israel somthing between 20 up to 40,000 people. not every day newcastle comes here : ) |

Poor results so far but on their way. Lech Poznan, that lost to Terek in UCQ2 (0-1, 0-1)have just lost to Amica at home 0-4 whitch shows that Amica start to play on their level. Against Honved, they missed so many chances at home and in Hungary they were blocked by their unexperience, couse its young tema with 2-3 older (and good) players. There is lot of talemt in Amica so with little luck, they could surprise. But then, with poor experiens in international games, they could suddenly loose to Ventspils, even if they have much, much better team. regards |

They eliminated Servette Geneva (which one year before was in 1/8 of UC), Brodby and a few other teams. However they are unexperienced because they are probably the youngest team in whole UEFA Cup. There are 5-6 players in first squad which are 21 or younger! |

But i think the pairs Utrecht-Djurgarden and Millwall-Ferencvaros are a bit stronger than Amica-Ventspils. Not only because of Amica but more because of Ventspils. I would not say the same thing about, let?s say, Amica-Djugardens or Feyenoord-Ventspils, as examples... But Hafnarfjoerdur-Aachen is maybe even less strong. I see more probabilities on Aachen progress than in Bochum or Standard Liege and i believe the last two teams are stronger than Aachen. All theories, of course. Regards! |

Litex played 75 or 80 minutes with a player down, first goal conceded from penalty in the very 15th minute ... they just had a poor day. In fact, in this match happened the same thing as in their previous match in UC second leg of R1 when Litex crashed Zheleznicar 7:0. However, this time Litex taking the role of the Bosnian team. Neither Litex is that much better than Zeleznicar, nor GAK is so superior compared to the bulgarian team. Such things just happen. If they forget about the result of the first match and just try to give their best I can see them win in the second leg somewhere around 2:0. Austrians are no big deal, nothing special to be afraid of. And 2 points for the Bulgarian coef. would be nice. @maymunata, next time when you are in doubt whether to put some money on them, you should consider the enormous eurolet_ski "success" in european cups matches |

You know only the result and nothing about the game and give chences... for example Areksen says 60/40 for Dinamo but he did't watch the game and his prediction base only on a result. Losing 3-4 is quite a good result before a match at home but game of Dinamo wasn't good enough to have chances for eliminating Wisla. They scored 3 goals but 2 of them was stupid own goals of Wisla players. Despite it Wisla was playing the biggest shit in this season in 1st half. Why? They underestimated Dinamo. They were losing 0-2 to 60 minute and in 4 minutes they were able to score 3goals. I don't think they will underestimate Dinamo again. |

I was just pasting what another person posted as his/hers predictions for the 1st round and I was saying that if one of his/hers predictions will come true i would apoligize for making fun of them earlier!!! I know that Dinamo's gaals were scored on deflections off defenders(I live in USA but get my Wisla goals from --> http://www.wisla-multi.com -->Jackes is fast on placing them on the net) I also know that if Wisla would have not underestimated the Georgian team they would have won 4-0 !!! regards pozdro |
