First, let me copy here the original post from dzomba: Since old topic was archived i couldn't find better one than this to post news ... Maybe some of you knew this, but i haven't read it here yet, so here are news i didn't know until now: 1) 4 best 3rd-placed teams from CL group stage will be SEEDED in Europa League knock-out round 2) draw for CL 2nd and 3rd qualifying round will be made BEFORE 1st q round => more Kaunas-AaB matches ... 3) draw for UC 2nd qualifying round will be made before 1st round - similar impact as in CL ... All this is from Uefa site ... |

Date: 02-01-2009, 16:18 | some links: UEFA CL 2009/10 Competition format UEFA CL 2009/10 List of participants UEFA CL 2009/10 Access list ... and three comments: 1) there is a mistake in the list of participants: RUS3 together with the RU from countries 7-12 (ROU, POR, NED, SCO, TUR, UKR) are shown to start in Play-Off round rather than in the Q3 round 2) the fact that draw for Q1, Q2 and Q3 will be held on one date (22nd June) does not bring anything new compared to the current situation - in fact Q1 will consist most probably of one tie between the champs of AND and SMR (in case of TH qualifying for CL via their domestic league) so it could hardly be called a "round" 3) UEFA indirectly answers the question are the ranks 52 and 53 reserved for AND and SMR or they are really allocated according to the number of points earned - we are in a situation when both AND and MNE finished the 2007-08 season with 0.500 points, both had 0.000 points earned in 2006-07 season (in fact MNE was not participating in that season's UEFA CL/ UEFA Cup at all), but still MNE occupies the rank 51 and AND the rank 52. |

Date: 02-01-2009, 17:08 | For of all, thanks a lot. I think that the champions from countries 16-17 will be promoted to q3, so q1 will still have 6 teams in it. |

Date: 02-01-2009, 17:59 | @amirbachar: even with three ties Q1 could hardly be called a full round  my idea to post this comment was that because I expect all champions of the last six countries to be surely unseeded in Q2, the result of the Q1 ties should not influence the Q2 seeding list at all. |
