Re: Euro 2020
Now you can travel across europe with no reservations, even being out of EU due to bi-lateral agreements. There are a few exceptions like UK or Russia with more strick rules What exact country couldn't you easily visit within Europe BEFORE the time of the European Union, except for the ones you pre...

Re: Euro 2020
So out of the projected third-placed teams, the simulations suggest: Switzerland Germany Poland Austria should qualify for the R16, while Russia Czechia should be the two eliminated third-placed teams. etc I enjoy simulations just as much as you do :applause: . But the fact they attribute some team...

Re: Euro 2020
But if there wasn't EU you would have to pay this for a lot more countries. Its what it is. We pay too many taxes (and in Portugal we have the higher taxes-in % of individual income). Nice fantasy. You must be VERY YOUNG to believe this, because you don't know it otherwise. Even without EU there we...

Re: Euro 2020
I'm not a supporter of how they seeded teams for Euro 2020. I have to disagree there... I think ranking them according to overall group stage qualifiers results is atleast (I think it's better) as good as to refer to some long-term UEFA ranking. And the draw was strange too, with several teams alre...

Re: Euro 2020
Group A: Italy is notorious for 'tragedy'... any team involved could potentially top that group - but the more surprising results Italy provides in group stage, the more dangerous they are to suddenly go far or win it  . The bigger the lamentation, the better the potential outcome  . Grou...

Re: Euro 2020
Having this - due to many UEFA special regulations and exceptions: Group A: #1 Italy (host), #2 TBD, #3 TBD, #4 Finland or Wales Group B: #1 Belgium (non-host, Ukraine not possible), #2 Russia (host), #3 Denmark (host), #4 Finland or Wales Group C: #1 Ukraine (can't pair with Russia), #2 Netherlands...

Re: Euro 2020
I was thinking of those C teams being different because there already are 4 unqualified C teams above them, but still they get to come in. It sure looks weird to be the only division A team that didn't qualify directly for EURO 2020, and then getting other 3 teams from division C to make a regular ...

Re: Euro 2020
One thing I cannot understand. Iceland are the only team that really belongs into path A. The others are just lucky losers. So why in all the world did UEFA not make Iceland automatic host for the final (in case they qualify)? It's simply rubbish that they have an away game at some lucky loser. As ...

Re: Euro 2020
The way UEFA is guiding the group draws 'ad absurdum' is insane... Reminder: Hosts - Group A: Rome/Baku, Group B: Saint Petersburg/Copenhagen, Group C: Amsterdam/Bucharest, Group D: London/Glasgow, Group E: Bilbao/Dublin, Group F: Munich/Budapest Now, the UNL Playoffs have been determined, and UEFA ...

Re: Euro 2020
I was late and just noticed how all these useless exceptions in UEFA zone make the final group draw for EURO 2020 a complete joke... while in Asia (WC pre-qualifiers) they even manage to fit North AND South Korea into the very same group (yep, they take precautions, but still... they manage)....

Re: 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup
With scores like this at the world cup you just know something is wrong with the qualification system Women's football looks a bit like baseball: about 20-25 countries can form a decent team, the rest are barely amateurs. You are a bit too optimistic I guess... unless you didn't mean "amateurs...

Re: 2019 FIFA Women's World Cup
yeah I don't like it when people say that when you're leading by a big margin you can't play full strength anymore or celebrate goals  To stop playing would potentially even influence the tournament (scores?), although unlikely... and some teams are still much better than others when they pla...

Re: UEFA Nations League 2018/19
All in all the nations league was a - for once - nice idea coming from UEFA... and certainly a huge improvement compared to "zero" interest european friendlies. That said, semifinal between Portugal and Switzerland seemed to be the only "go for it" match at the final round - easi...

Re: UEFA Nations League 2018/19
The reason given in Holland to like this NL is that 'it might be a valuable title in the future and then it's nice to have it' Actual saying it is not a valuable title at the moment.... nice :D The good thing about the UNL is this: It still feels like a real football tournament fans can actually en...
