soccer clubs budgets

Post by murfhom »

Hello

I'm new here as you can see and I want to create

a " stock information " about soccer clubs budgets

so let's start from the Israeli top clubs teams where I come from

please write the budgets of 2011-2012 season

Maccabi Tel Aviv around 16 - 18 mllion euro

Hapoel Tel Aviv around 8 - 9 million euro

Maccabi Haifa around 8 - 9 million euro

Beitar Jerusalem around 6 - 7 million euro

look the budgets may increase if one of the teams

qualify for oone of the european factories for example

Maccabi Haifa may increase thier budget in order

to qualify for the champions league please

write based information and if you can bring sources so

it is better thank you

Hello Murfhom;
I am very interested to get comprehensive insight in budgets of the UEFA clubs. Somewhere else in this forum runs an threat called "European Budget Crisis". A number of countries/club budgets were posted and I asked there pretty much the same question you asked. In need these budgets to perform analysis between strength and budget. From the few data from last year, it seems like there is a strong correlation between budget and strength (as expected). Check out www.voetbaldokter.nl

Sparta Prague has operated with 300,000,000CZK/year (€10M) for the last 12 years or so. But CZK currency has gotten stronger over time so in EUR it went from €8M to €12M over the 12 years.

From last year's Czech sport magazine:

€12.2M - Sparta Prague
€6.1M - Slavia Prague (but almost went bankrupt so it's much lower this season)
€6.1M - Mlada Boleslav
€5.3M - Banik Ostrava (also in trouble, probably lower this season)
€4.5M - Baumit Jablonec
€3.7M - Teplice
€3.3M - Zbrojovka Brno
€2.9M - Sigma Olomouc
€2.9M - Viktoria Plzen
€2.5M - Slovan Liberec
€2.5M - Ceske Budejovice
€1.6M - Hradec Kralove
€1.6M - Bohemians 1905
€1.4M - Pribram
€1.2M - Slovacko
€1.2M - Usti nad Labem

And how they actually did in the Czech league:

1st - €2.9M - Viktoria Plzen (CL)
2nd - €12.2M - Sparta Prague (EL)
3rd - €4.5M - Baumit Jablonec (EL)
4th - €2.9M - Sigma Olomouc
5th - €6.1M - Mlada Boleslav
6th - €1.6M - Bohemians 1905
7th - €2.5M - Slovan Liberec
8th - €1.6M - Hradec Kralove
9th - €6.1M - Slavia Prague
10th - €3.7M - Teplice
11th - €2.5M - Ceske Budejovice
12th - €1.2M - Slovacko
13th - €1.4M - Pribram
14th - €5.3M - Banik Ostrava
15th - €3.3M - Zbrojovka Brno (relegated)
16th - €1.2M - Usti nad Labem (relegated)

Edit: there're also salaries+bonuses of TOP 10 players (all Sparta Prague ranging from €160k to €410k/year) and highest payed players per club (poor teams pay the same to every player starting at €14.5k/year)

I have added a new item on www.voetbaldokter.nl pertaining to the relation between club budget and strength. In other words, to what degree is budget a good determinant for strength? As could be expected (als from a similar analysis this winter), the relationship is very strong and became even stronger compared to 6 monhts ago. Only in the < 50 million Euro/year bracket, the relation between money and strength is not all that clearcut.

to show the relativity of these figures: even though Anderlecht is indeed cited to have a budget of 45 million (gorandinho didn't lie), last year and most likely this year, they have a budget of 67 million (including 13 million of CL), excluding their youth academy.

Official figures for Steaua, according to the Ministry of finance:

2012
Revenue: 10.2 milioane de euro
Expenses: 8.35 milioane de euro
Profit: 1.9 milioane de euro

2011
Revenue: 15.3 milioane de euro
Expenses: 11.3 milioane de euro
Profit: 4 milioane de euro

2010
Revenue: 10.3 milioane de euro
Expenses: 14.7 milioane de euro
Loses: 4.46 milioane de euro

2009 - No data

2008
Revenue: 19.6 milioane de euro
Expenses: 20.9 milioane de euro
Loses: 1.3 milioane de euro

2007
Revenue: 13.02 milioane de euro
Expenses: 19.29 milioane de euro
Loses: 6.2 milioane de euro

I think that data of this sort is much more useful and realistic than "budgets". Budgets of the football clubs can often be based on unrealistic revenues, promised money from unreliable sources and stuff like that.

Getting these kind of information in Bosnia and Herzegovina is very hard. Many clubs don't release the number although all sport clubs in Bosnia and Herzegovina are registered as "civic association" and should release all the numbers. These is what I could find, for Željezničar and Sarajevo the number are almost to the point right (because they are from a reliable source like SportSport.ba or Klix.ba), the other are based on estimates. To be a strong contender for a European spot even before the season begins, a club needs about 750.000 € (I said ABOUT), while about 250.000 € is enough to survive in the league:

FK Željezničar (for the year 2012) - 1,53 million €
FK Sarajevo (for the year 2012) - 1,4 million €
-----
NK Široki Brijeg (estimate for 2012) - ~1 million €
FK Borac Banja Luka (estimate for 2012) - ~0,75-0,8 million €
FK Olimpic (estimate for 2012) - ~0,7-0,8 million €
NK Čelik Zenica (estimate for 2012) - ~0,7 million € (revenue 0,5 million €, expendures 0,7 million € so they were in minus last year)
HŠK Zrinjski Mostar (estimate for 2012) - ~0,5-0,6 million €

All other clubs have almost for sure smaller yearly budgets.
