26/05 18:00 VfL Wolfsburg v Olympique Lyonnais

It will be too early for me as I will still be at work :(

This said, I made the effort to watch the 4 finals we played and I have to admit that I found it a bit painful to watch.
At NT level, it's ok (I really enjoyed the WC 2011), but at club level, even with the best clubs, it's not always very good.

Coming back to the final, our girls have a revenge to take because their defeat in the 2014 final vs. Wolfsburg was unfair (should unfair means something in football) as they largely dominated the game as far as I can remember.
Hotefully they'll win this time.

And as far as I'm concerned I would be delighted that they win this final but in terms of excitment I have to admit that it's not comparable with the male team.

Yes, I thought so. :wink1: I would feel the same if my club ever went that far in Women's CL.

Some quotes from the womensoccer.de blog...

Wolfsburg's coach Ralf Kellermann: "I think Lyon are slight favourites because of their great performances and their world-class squad."
Alexandra Popp: "If we show 100% of our quality on the pitch, we'll be hard to beat. In the Bundesliga, Lyon wouldn't be able to score 100 goals."
Lara Dickenmann: "It's a special game for me, I know all the players very well. We know how good Lyon are - but we're good as well."

"In the Bundesliga, Lyon wouldn't be able to score 100 goals." Typical ! Do they also think now that with women , the German league is better than the French one ? ????????
Maybe in France, Wolfsburg would not play the Champiosleague also.........

Wolfsburg ties at 88' :!: Popp, with a "towering header," is the scorer, assisted by Wullaert.

goal goal goal

From what I've seen (the last 20 minutes) it's pretty deserved.

Commentator on uefa.com says overtime--I didn't know whether it was overtime or straight to penalty kicks.

yeah, 30 extra minutes. Lyon totally passive, tried to keep the 1-0.
Now it's getting interesting.

As I heard they just started playing when I started watching, so overall Lyon might have been better.
Lyon's german player Bremer assisted the first goal wonderfully.

According to uefa.com's stats, Lyon had many more shots and shots on goal, and they said the Wolfsburg goal "came out of nowhere," but how many times have you seen it--leader tries to sit on a one-goal lead and pays the price. Down the drain it goes . . .

I only watched the last 10 minutes. The German Eurosport commentator said Lyon should have scored a second or third goal, while Wolfsburg only had one good opportunity.

Lyon should......have scored 3 or 4 goals....Wolfsburg was absent more than the first 60 minutes. Then Lyon tried to keep the 1-1 and mostly keptthe ball. On the equalizer it awas a falut of Sara in the goal.....now all can happen, but it would be really not deserved if Wolfsburg would win that cup......even if now the teams are closer than in the regular time.....
