Well, that's sorta true, but it took Sevilla LOSING the Final of the Copa del Rey to Barça to bring this about--otherwise Celta woulda had to qualify through the playoff round--as crazy as that sounds, and if I don't misremember the explanation I was given, it's true :!:
Yeah because after sevilla won the Europa League its spot in the next Europa league got elminated and given to another country,
so if Sevilla had won the copa del rey the cup Winner spot would have been elminated but since Sevilla lost it was the least league spot that it was elminated.
Yup, that's the explanation I was given (maybe by you). Perfectly clear and logical, no :?:  :rollfloor: Who knows what bizarreness lurks in the hearts of the UEFA :?:
Ah, we all know what we want, Alan - UEFA President Michael S. Collins. I'd promise to be corrupt and overtly favouritist.

Probably wasnt me, but another effect this had is that for Spain it would be better if Sevilla finished 8th or lower so they would have 8 teams in Europe, but since sevilla finished 7th in the league spain was only able to send two teams in this year europa league...

And Olympiakos scores, aruca is probably out unless they can score twice.

Thats just typical Israel they never handle pressure when they need to win.

Full back off, forward on. Arouca are all-in.

And concede right after. Arouca's substitutions to win the game were both punished with a goal in the other end but that was the risk.

I maintain what I said earlier, Arouca can be proud of this.

I feel bad for the serbian keeper he is doing everything possible but he forgot he is on Israeli team.

Brown Ideye finishes it off for Olympiakos. Arouca would have to score two in almost no time at all to progress.

Looks as though our goal total for the day will be 49.

Aruca should have tried for penalties, with the stadium booing its own team they would have good chances especially since Olympiakos keeper is inexperienced.

Awful night for the unseeded. (Astra, or better West Ham are a special case).
