"Small leagues"

Post by matt »

Here everyone can post results and comments about all the european leagues that don't have a single topic.

Kazakhstan:

The current table:
1-Aktobe 43(22)
2-Kairat almaty 42(21)
3-Astana 39(20)
4-Shakter Karagandy 36(18)
5-Ordabasy 35(18)
6-Kaisar 32(16)

7-Zhetysu 27(14)
8-Tobol 26(13)
9-Irtysh pavlodar 24(12)
10-Atyrau 24(12)
11-Taraz 19(10)
12-Spartak Semey 14(7)

The regular season is over. Now the first six will fight for the title and the euro-places,while the last six will fight for avoid relegation(the last two will be relegated).

Each team will play 10 matches till the end of the championship.

The points will be split in two,so between aktobe and kaisar the difference is only six points now.

The Cup:

1\2 finals will be played over two legs(16 august-24 september)

Aktobe-Fc Astana
Kairat Almaty-Shakter Karagandy

This could be the best ever season for the Kazakhs, but let us wait until the 2nd legs are over and then what will the draw bring on Friday. I am sorry only for Tobol not being able to fight for Europe for years now. They were the first team that caught my attention about 10 years ago in the Intertoto cup. Aktobe and Karagandy carrying the flag very well, though. :)

So, here we go. Karagandy could not build on their two goals advantage and lost the 2nd leg 0:3 in Split vs. Hajduk. Astana - astonishingly - whipped AIK in Sweden 3:0 and caused one of the biggest shocks in the round. Aktobe fought bravely in Bucuresti, but Steaua are old foxes and won on the night 2:1, so Aktobe dropped back to the EL.
The draw is impossible for Astana, Villarreal a class act, but nobody expected to see the name Astana in the bowl anyway. They should have bowed out in the 2nd round already vs. Hapoel Tel-Aviv according to the paperform. Now they have 3.825 ranking points (from 1.900) and this should be enough to be seeded next time in the 1st round. One step at a time.
Aktobe pulled unfortunate Legia Warszawa from the hat, instead of condemning Celtic to another torturous trip deep into the Kazakh steppe. No doubt they are underdogs, but with different measure as Astana. Yes, they have chances vs. Legia, the task is difficult, but far from impossible. Aktobe have already amassed 8.575 (from 8.150) ranking points to this day, if they could add some more the next season they could expect a seeded spot even in the 3rd round of the EL, in case they will not secure CL participation.
The other two teams those dropped already out still collected valuable points. Shakhter Karagandy have now 6.825 (from 5.400) good for seeded spot for the 2nd round in the EL and Kairat Almaty have 2.575 (from 1.650) might be enough to be seeded in the next EL 1st round.
Kazakhstan have 3.375 ranking points - a new record already - and minimum 4 more games to be played. It would be nice to see this record pushed a bit farther ahead.

People who interested in Kazakhstan I assume interested also in Azerbaijan.
The new season just started with mixed fortunes for the two teams still standing in Europe. A win for Qarabag 3:0 in Sumgayit and a loss to Neftchi 0:3 vs. Araz in Nakhchivan (city) - in front of 7,500 spectators - , capital of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, an exclave (area: 5,500 km2, population: cca. 410 thousand) of Azerbaijan.
Araz won the 2nd division last season and qualified for the Premyer Liga.

Same goes for Belarus I guess.
Dinamo Minsk - BATE 0:2, 7,150 spectators, this was a postponed game between the two leaders and with this win BATE leapfrogged Dinamo, who have an extra game in hand. Two more rounds to go before the split of the 12 teams. BATE have 45 points and Dinamo 44, Naftan Nonopolotsk follow with 36 and Soligorsk with 32 points.

Last before round in Belarus:
Belshina Bobruisk - Shaktyor Soligorsk 2:1 (3rd straight defeat for Soligorsk, not the best sign for Europe)
BATE - Dnepr Mogilev 3:0
Dinamo Minsk - Torpedo Zhodino 0:0

With Dinamo slip-up BATE now lead with 3 points, though Dinamo have a game in hand:
BATE 48
Dinamo Minsk 45
Naftan Novopolotsk 37
Soligorsk 32
---------------------------

2nd round in Azerbaijan:
Qarabag - Inter Baki 0:0
Neftchi - Baki 1:0

Inter Baki and Qarabag are on top with 4 points.

Why not open a topic for those leagues? Belarusian and Azeri results in the Kazakhstani thread is weird and people that might be interested in those leagues but not in this one might not find them.

Valid question. Probably lazy, assume those who interested in one most probably interested in the others, until they play in Europe the interest probably there, but not later etc. Maybe Matt the owner could just edit the title.

Kazakhstan:
The first game was played in the championship round:
Shakhter Karagandy - Kaisar 0:0, the games of Aktobe (at home vs. Ordabasy) and Astana (at home vs. Kairat) were postponed, because of the EL 2nd legs.

Aktobe 22
Kairat 21
Astana 20
Shakhter 19
Ordabasy 18
Kaisar 17

Azerbaijan:
The 3rd round games of Qarabag and Neftchi, both EL participants were also postponed.

Belarus:
Slutsk - Dinamo Minsk 0:0, a postponed game from earlier rounds (Dinamo missed the chance to close in on BATE), the 8th finals of the cup were played this weekend, but neither BATE nor Soligorsk took the field, their games were postponed.

BATE 48
Dinamo Minsk 46
Naftan 37
Soligorsk 32.....one more round before the split.
