Milan and Inter are pitiful sights...they are competing for 6th place, the final Europa League place (unless Fiorentina passes both of them)...

The Milanese malaise plumbs new depths of calamity in Serie A
Sixth place is just about all that Inter or Milan can aspire to after the Nerazzurri went down 5-4 at Fiorentina and the Rossoneri lost at home to Empoli
by Paolo Bandini Today
Sixth place is just about all that Inter or Milan can aspire to, after a weekend in which they each hit new depths of calamity. Their prize (barring an implausible collapse from Coppa Italia finalists Lazio, which would offer fresh opportunities to climb higher in any case) would be a spot in the Europa League’s third qualifying round.
To frame that another way: the winners of this race can look forward to having their holidays shortened for a season that begins in July. Might players prefer to lose now than endure such a dubious reward? It is a scandalous suggestion, but one that found its way into several Monday papers as reporters strived to comprehend Inter’s 5-4 defeat at Fiorentina, and Milan’s 2-1 loss at home to Empoli.

Inter lost again, this time at home against Sassuolo, and are out of Europe next season! The last EL spot will be fought between Milan and Fiorentina.

Next week Fiorentina is likely to lose at Napoli, whereas Milan hosts Bologna. Big advantage for Milan here.

In the ``race`` to avoid the EL Inter lost 6 of their last 8 games and drew the other 2! Milan lost twice and drew 3 times in their last 5 games! So, the 2 Milanese clubs made 5 points - no win - from 13 games!

I had Atalanta-Milan on yesterday and Milan seemed to be trying and celebrated their goal.bugylibicska wrote:In the ``race`` to avoid the EL Inter lost 6 of their last 8 games and drew the other 2! Avoiding the EL makes no sense whatsoever. Even if you really don't care about it, you always have the option of sending your kids to get experience. They're not winning because they're simply bad.
I don't know for Inter, but for Milan they miss a "leader". So when there is one problem, they sink. They had a good period, but the 1-2 against Empoli stopped their momentum.Thunder_PT wrote:I had Atalanta-Milan on yesterday and Milan seemed to be trying and celebrated their goal.bugylibicska wrote:In the ``race`` to avoid the EL Inter lost 6 of their last 8 games and drew the other 2!
