It may be World Cup Qualifiers Week, but LaLiga2 never sleeps--Week 14

Córdoba 0, Mallorca 2 Yes, LaLiga2 plays on Friday this week :!: Córdoba has dropped to ninth place, but is only two points back of second place  :!: Mallorca, with 15 points, is only a point above the drop, but is just three points shy of a playoff spot. LaLiga2 is so tight that the distance between 22nd place and second place is just 10 points--exactly the same as the distance between first place and second place  :!: Any questions about how wide-open LaLiga2 is :?: Mallorca wins their first of the season on the road on goals by Thierry Moutinho at 63' and Brandón at 78'; they pass Córdoba in the standings on GD and lie seventh, at least for the moment.

Sat. 12 Nov.

Elche 2, Valladolid 0 late in the second half. Elche is 13th with 16 points. Valladolid has come to life; is one of six teams at 18 points, and is just shy of a playoff spot on GD. Elche takes the lead at 2' on a goal by Alex Fernández. And Alex Fernández makes it 2-0 at 79'. If this result holds, Elche climbs to 5th place--for the moment. And thus it comes to pass . . .

Huesca 4, Oviedo 0 Huesca is one of the six teams at 18 points, two points behind second-place Oviedo. Oviedo is the best defensive team in LaLiga2, having conceded just seven goals in 13 games, and just three goals in six road games. So much for the "best defense." Huesca hammers Oviedo with three goals in the last 13 minutes of the first half--Ferreiro at 32', Melero at 39', and Borja Lázaro at 45' are the scorers. Huesca will rise to second place if they hold on here--at least until later. And Oscar Gil of Oviedo sees a red card at 46'--"Llueve sobre mojado." ("When it rains, it pours.") Ferreiro knocks in the fourth for Huesca at 84'.

Nástic 1, Getafe 0 Nástic won for the first time this season last weekend; they're still in last place, five points below the lowest team not in the drop. Geta is 10th, but is only two points back of second place. Juan Muñiz, the same player who scored Nástic's winner last weekend, puts his team on track for their second win of the season and second in a row--and their first win at home--goal at 20'. Nástic moves out of last place, but not out of the drop.

Alcorcón 1, Reus 0 Alcor is next-to-last, but a win could lift them above the drop. Reus is fourth, but has 20 points, the same number as second-place Oviedo. Pablo Pérez gives Alcor the lead at 69'. Alcor holds on; could have enough to escape the drop.

Tenerife 1, Numancia 1 Tete is a point above the drop and two points better than 20th place Numancia. Suso Santana gives Tete the lead at 36'. Manu del Moral ties for Numancia at 63'. Numancia will stay in the drop.

Levante 0, Cádiz 0 Levante is the runaway leader of LaLiga2, with a 10-point lead over second place on a record of 9-3-1. They are 5-1-0 at home. Cádiz is in mid-table, three points above the drop and just one point shy of a playoff spot. Scoreless tie puts Levante 10 points ahead of now-second-place team Huesca.

Sun. 13 Nov.

Lugo 1, Rayo 0 Lugo is sixth, in the last playoff spot on GD. Rayo :mol: :mol: :mol: is the worst road team in LaLiga2, with one point in six games. We're above the drop by one point. We have a new coach, Rubén Baraja, as Sandoval was fired after the last-second loss at home to UCAM last weekend. The "new coach effect" fails for Rayo, as Lugo wins with a goal by Seoane at 25'. This lifts Lugo, at least for the moment, into second place on GD over Huesca; Rayo could still avoid ending the "week" in the drop depending on the results of Almería, Mirandés, and UCAM.

Sevilla At. 1, Almería 0 Sevilla is in third place on GD; is unbeaten at home. Almería is the top of the drop with 14 points. At 13', Cristian González gives Sevilla the lead with a header off a corner. At 38', Sevilla's goalie saves a bullet header. If this result holds, Sevilla will end the "week" in second place--but of course they aren't eligible for promotion. Almería was the better team in the second half, but no joy. At 49', Cristian González commits a penalty; the pk is saved by the goalie. At 72', Cristian González sees a second yellow, but 10-man Sevilla holds on to win.

UCAM 0, Girona 1 The win at Rayo lifted UCAM out of the drop. Girona is fifth, two points back of the second automatic promotion spot. Scoreless first half. At 62', Longo scores to give Girona the win; Girona finishes the "week" in third place on GD over Lugo and Huesca. UCAM will stay above the drop, at least on GD.

Zaragoza 2, Mirandés 0 Zaragoza is in mid-table, but just three points back of second place. Mirandés has dropped like a rock; with just two points in their last six games, they're now just a point above the drop. At 34', Cabrera gives Zaragoza the lead as he puts in a rebound; at 43' Edu García makes it 2-0 for Zaragoza. If Zaragoza goes on to win by this margin, they'll move into the last playoff spot; Mirandés will fall into the drop. And so it comes to pass.

We are one-third of the way through the season in LaLiga2. Everything is very tight--10 points from second place to last place; only first place is an anomaly, with Levante eight points ahead of second-place Sevilla At.

The top and the drop after Week 14

1. Levante-----------------31 points; +22-10 Next at Oviedo.
2. Sevilla At.---------------23 points; +17-13 At Mallorca. (Not eligible for promotion.)
3. Girona------------------21 points; +19-13 Hosts Lugo.
----------------------------------------
4. Lugo-------------------21 points; +21-16 At Girona.
5. Huesca-----------------21 points; +18-14 At Rayo.
6. Zaragoza---------------20 points; +21-19 At Getafe.
7. Oviedo-----------------20 points; +13-11 Hosts Levante.
----------------------------------------Seventh place is the last playoff spot since Sevilla At. cannot participate in playoffs.
8. Reus-------------------20 points; +12-10 Hosts Nástic.
9. Elche------------------19 points; +22-21 At Almería.
----------------------------------------
----------------------------------------And just five points back of the last playoff spot, we have
17. UCAM----------------15 points; +14-16 At Tenerife.
18. Rayo-----------------15 points; +15-18 Hosts Huesca.
----------------------------------------And the drop:
19. Mirandés-------------15 points; +15-22 Hosts Córdoba.

21. Numancia------------14 points; +15-19 Hosts Valladolid.

Week 15 starts on Friday

Almería 2, Elche 1 Almería is in the drop; would almost surely rise thereabove with a win here. Elche has climbed to ninth place; a win would most likely lift them into a playoff spot. Ximo Navarro puts one into his own net to put Elche ahead at 14'--0-1. Puertas at 29`and Quique at 58' turn it around to put Almería up 2-1. And it ends that way; Almería rises above the drop, all the way to 15th place--for the moment.

Sat. 19 Nov.

Numancia 2, Valladolid 1 Numancia is next-to-last; a win would likely lift them out of the drop. Valladolid is in mid-table, just three points back of third place. Valcarce puts Numancia ahead at 11'; Raúl de Tomás ties at 60'; Manu del Moral hits the winner at 90'. Numancia will probably end the weekend above the drop.

Mallorca 2, Sevilla At. 2 Mallorca is 2-2-0 in their last four games; has risen to mid-table. Sevilla At. is all alone in second place; must get something here to stay second. Sevilla goes up 0-2 on goals by Ivi López at 25' and Marc Gual at 43'; Mallorca ties on goals by Brandón at 59' and Junior Lago at 74'.

Oviedo 2, Levante 0 Huge game for Oviedo after the 4-0 loss at Huesca: can they come back against the runaway leaders :?: Oviedo is now in the last playoff spot, but they must win to avoid dropping lower. Levante is the best road team in LaLiga2 at 4-2-1. Expect 15,000 plus in the Nuevo Carlos Tartiere for this game. And a huge win for Oviedo. Michu at 60' and Jonathan Pereira at 73' provide the goals. 14,361 on hand for Oviedo's biggest win of the season.

Girona 3, Lugo 1 Game of the Week, as #3 hosts #4. Winner will rise to second place should Sevilla At. slip. Girona is unbeaten at home; Lugo has lost just once on the road. Borja García gives Girona the lead at 4'--1-0; Carlos Hernández ties at 7' for Lugo--1-1. At 35', Borja García puts Girona up 2-1. If this result holds, Girona will move into second place on GD. Rubén Alcaraz makes it 3-1 at 90'. Girona is within seven points of first-place Levante.

Sun. 20 Nov.

Reus 1, Nástic 0 Reus has dropped three in a row to fall to 8th place. Nástic has won their last two--their only two wins this season; while they're still in last place, a win here could lift them out of the drop. Reus returns to winning ways thanks to a goal by Fran Carbià at 57', at which time Nástic was reduced to 10 men. Reus thus climbs back into a playoff spot, while Nástic remains in last place.

Getafe 1, Zaragoza Geta is three points above the drop, and two points back of sixth place Zaragoza. This is Zaragoza's fourth consecutive season in second division; they want badly to return to the big time. They have yet to win on the road this season. Geta knocks Zaragoza out of a playoff spot and passes them in the ranking, thanks to a goal by Jorge Molina at 87'.

Cádiz 4, Alcorcón 1 Cádiz is in mid-table, two points better than 16th place Alcor, which is one point above the drop. Bellvis gives Alcor the lead at 3', but after Rafa Pérez sees red at 48', it's all Cádiz: Alfredo Ortuño at 56' and 90'+, Alex García at 79', and Salva Sánchez at 90' are the scorers.

Tenerife 2, UCAM 1 Tete is 15th, a point above the drop. UCAM is one point back of Tete, above the drop on GD. Collantes gives UCAM the lead at 3', but Cristo González at 25' and Diedhiou at 44' turn it around to give Tete the win.

Rayo 2, Huesca 2 Rayo :mol: is above the drop on GD after losing their last three. Huesca has climbed to fifth place. Borja Lázaro gives Huesca the lead at 28'. At 34', Brezancic of Huesca sees a second yellow, and Rayo comes back to lead on goals by Ebert at 36' and 62, but Borja Lázaro strikes again at 64' to tie it again--2-2.

Mirandés 1, Córdoba 1 Neither of these teams has won in their last seven outings. Córdoba has dropped to lower mid-table and Mirandés is now in the drop on GD. Pedro Martín gives Mirandés the lead at 22'. Juli ties for Córdoba at 63'.

Week 16 starts today

Nástic 1, Cádiz 0 A win could lift Nástic out of last place and even out of the drop, although they'd have to win by three or more to have a chance. Cádiz is eighth, only shy of a playoff spot on GD. Nástic wins their third of the last four on a goal by Ike Uche at 65'. Nástic is now top of the drop.

Sat. 26 Nov.

Lugo 1, Tenerife 3 Lugo occupies the last playoff spot; a win could lift them as high as third place. Tete is in mid-table, three points above the drop and two points shy of a playoff spot. All of this is terribly tight :!: Lugo goes ahead early, but Tete comes back with three of their own. Joselu puts Lugo up at 5'. Suso Santana ties with a pk at 8', and also hits the go-ahead goal at 67'; Aaron Ñíguez makes it 1-3 at 78'.

Alcorcón 5, Oviedo 1 Alcor is in the drop on GD. Oviedo comes off the big home win over Levante; morale is in the clouds as they seek a win to rise to second place. But Oviedo is getting blown out--goals by David Navarro at 16', Toribio at 41', and David Rodríguez at 58' make it 3-0 for Alcor. David Rodríguez adds another at 69'--4-1; Jonathan Pereira cuts the margin to 4-1 at 70'; Oscar Plano makes it 5-1 at 82'.

UCAM 3, Numancia 2 UCAM is in the drop, two points back of 17th place Numancia. Valcarce gives Numancia the lead at 9'; Jesús Imaz ties for UCAM at 50'. Marc Mateu of Numancia sees red at 52'. Valcarce gives Numancia the lead again at 68', but goals by Lorenzo at 84' and Jona at 88' turn it around for a UCAM win.

Valladolid 0, Almería 0 Valladolid has fallen to 15th place, two points above the drop. Almería is one place and one point back of Valladolid. Scoreless tie in the Nuevo Zorrilla.

Zaragoza 2, Reus 2 Every time it looks as though Zaragoza has made a breakthrough, they throw it back again. Currently they are in 10th place; they'd pass 5th place Reus on GD with a win. Reus is just one point back of an automatic promotion spot. This is potentially the best game of the week. Angel Rodríguez puts Zaragoza ahead at 35'--1-0; Ramón Folch ties for Reus at 59'. Reus takes the lead at 82'--Ramón Folch scores his second of the night. At 88', Dongou, late of Barça, ties for Zaragoza.

Sun. 27 Nov.

Elche 1, Mallorca 0 Elche is in mid-table, two points back of the playoffs and three points above the drop. Mallorca is ahead of Elche on GD. Mallorca loses a man to a second yellow at 63' and gives up the deciding goal to Guillermo five minutes later. Elche climbs a minimum of four places and could finish the day in a playoff spot.

Huesca 1, Girona 2 Another candidate for best game of the week. Huesca has been very good of late; they're two points back of Girona, which is in an automatic promotion spot. Nagore gives Huesca the lead at 4', but Girona comes back on goals by Portu at 13' and Borja García at 30' to take a 1-2 lead. Girona goes on to win; assures themselves of second place at the week's end.

Córdoba 1, Getafe 3 Córdoba continues to bounce up and down the rankings--currently they're 14th. Geta has risen to ninth; they're back of a playoff spot only on GD. Gorosito at 23', and Jorge Molina at 57' and 82', give Geta a 0-3 lead; Pedro Ríos pretties up the scoreboard for Córdoba at 84'.

Sevilla At. 1, Mirandés 0 Sevilla is third; they're unbeaten at home. Mirandés is the top of the drop, behind salvation only on GD. Pozo gives Sevilla At the win with a goal at 42'.

GAME POSTPONED--NO OTHER INFO YET. Levante-Rayo Levante lost  in Oviedo last weekend, but they still have a seven-point cushion over second place. Rayo :mol: is above the drop only on GD; we continue to be the worst road team in the league: 0-1-6 with five scored and 14 conceded. :(
Edit: Levante-Rayo has three possible dates at this point: 14 or 21 Dec. or 4 Jan. The first two are more likely than the third.

Week 17 starts Friday--action in the Copa del Rey this week means that First Division games don't begin until Saturday--

Getafe 2, Sevilla At. 0 Geta has come to life: they're 5-2-1 in their last eight games and have risen to fifth place; they'll catch Sevilla At. on points if they win this game. Alvaro Jiménez scores at 14' and at 69' to give Geta the win and move them into a second-place tie--on points, for the moment.

Sat. 3 Dec.

18:15

UCAM 1, Lugo 2 UCAM is a point above the drop. Lugo has dropped to mid-table, but they're just a point back of a playoff spot. Nono gives UCAM the lead at 9'; Pedraza turns it around for Lugo with goals at 14' and 76'. Lugo climbs, for the moment, to sixth place.

Mirandés 1, Elche 0 Mirandés is now dead last--they're 0-3-6 in their last nine games. Elche is back of a playoff spot only on GD. Maikel Mesa scores the winner for Mirandés at 25', lifting his team out of the drop for now.

Numancia 1, Almería 0 Numancia is the top of the drop, one point back of "safety." Almería is one point and two places ahead of Numancia. Marc Mateu scores the winner for Numancia, lifting his team out of the drop for now, dropping Almería there into.

Cádiz 3, Zaragoza 0 Cádiz is in mid-table, even on points with Zaragoza. Zaragoza has yet to win on the road this season. Salva Sánchez gives Cádiz the lead at 9'. Rafidine Abdullah makes it 2-0 at 47'. Alfredo Ortuño makes it 3-0 at 77', as Cádiz moves up in the standings.

Sun. 4 Dec.

Game of the Week :!: Girona 2, Levante 1 #2 Girona is four points back of #1 Levante, which has a game in hand. Girona is unbeaten at home; Levante is the top road team in the league, at 4-2-2. Girona comes within a point of the league lead, thanks to goals by Longo at 44' and Ramalho at 71'; Rafael Martins cuts the margin at 90'. Levante does have a game in hand.

Rayo 2, Alcorcón 0 A Madrid derby  Rayo is in the drop, two points from "safety" and three points back of Alcor. Rayo gets their first win under new coach Rubén Baraja--goals by Javi Guerra at 51' and Alex Moreno at 80'--the attribution of the second goal is by futbolme.com; livescore gives it to Franco Cristaldo. Rayo :mol: climbs above the drop with the win. :D :D :D

Oviedo 1, Nástic 0 Oviedo is in sixth place; they do well at home but have been blown out 4-0 and 5-1 in their last two on the road. Nástic is next-to-last, two points from "safety." Toché gives Oviedo the lead at 19'. Oviedo's goal holds up for the win; this will leave them in a playoff spot.

Mallorca 0, Valladolid 3 Mallorca is in lower mid-table, two points above the drop. Valladolid is even on points with Mallorca; trails on GD. José Arnaiz gives Valladolid the lead at 47'--0-1. Alex López at 76' and Míchel Herrero at 90' finish off a big win for Valladolid.

Tenerife 1, Huesca 1 Tete is unbeaten at home; is back of a playoff spot only on GD. Huesca is currently in the last playoff spot, even on points with Tete. Aitor Sanz gives Tete the lead at 5'. One of my favorite names in fútbol ties for Huesca at 85'--Urko Vera makes it 1-1.

Reus 1, Córdoba 2 Reus is in fourth place, three points back of an automatic promotion spot. Córdoba is enmeshed in an institutional crisis; they're now 16th, two points above the drop. Juli gives Córdoba the lead at 2'. Rodri makes it 0-2 at 59'. Babic cuts the margin to 1-2 at 84', but Córdoba holds on to go three points above the drop. Reus drops to eighth place; a win would have left them tied for third.

Ah, LaLiga2 never sleeps--Week 18 comin' right up--today already

Sevilla At. 0, Reus 1 Sevilla At. is unbeaten at home; Reus is three points back of third-place Sevilla At. Jorge Díaz scores at 67' to lift Reus all the way to third place.

Sat. 10 Dec.

Nástic 0, Rayo 1 Nástic is in last place; Rayo :mol: is above the drop on GD. Nástic would catch Rayo on points with a win. Rayo is 0-1-6  :fingal: on the road--can we get something in Tarragona :?: :applause: :applause: :applause: Yay--we finally won on the road, thanks to a goal by Javi Guerra at 88'--and we're a bit more above the drop.

Elche 2, Getafe 2 Elche is in mid-table, two points shy of a playoff spot. Geta has been great of late--6-3-1 in their last 10 games--to climb to fourth place. Goals by Portillo at 5' and Jorge Molina at 45' have given Geta a 0-2 lead. But at 70' and 72' Guillermo and then Nino tie it up for Elche--2-2. And it ends 2-2.

Huesca 5, UCAM 2 in progress. Huesca is ninth, just a point back of the playoffs. UCAM is in the drop. Samuel Saiz puts Huesca ahead at 8'; Jona ties at 12'--1-1; Borja Lázaro at 43' and Melero at 53' make it 3-1; Collantes cuts the margin to 3-2 at 54'. Vadillo at 61' and Melero at 70' move Huesca in front by three--5-2. Huesca wins it 5-2.

Levante 1, Tenerife 0 Levante has lost their cushion at the top of the league--they're now just a point ahead of Girona. Tete is in mid-table, just a point back of the last playoff spot. Casadesús gives Levante the lead at 77'. Levante is guaranteed at least a one-point lead in LaLiga2 with this win.

Sun. 11 Dec.

Almería 2, Mallorca 1 Almería is next to last, but a win would probably get them above the drop. Mallorca is one point and four places above Almería. Almería gets their win--goals by Antonio Rodríguez at 21' and Fidel Chaves at 54'; Mallorca's goal by Lekic at 85' was too little and too late. If Numancia, Alcorcón, or Mirandés fails to win later Sunday, Almería will be above the drop. Mallorca is likely to end the "Week" in the drop.

Córdoba 1, Cádiz 3 A big rivalry--Córdoba is seven places but only two points back of sixth-place Cádiz. Rodri gives Córdoba the lead at 57', but Alfredo Ortuño at 70', Aitor García at 83', and Ortuño again at 88' give Cádiz a big win.

18:00

Alcorcón 2, Girona 1 Alcor is above the drop on GD; Girona has climbed to second place, just a point off the pace. Plano at 6' and David Rodríguez at 26' give Alcor a 2-0 lead; Cristian Herrera makes it close at 79', but Alcor hangs on.

Valladolid 5, Mirandés 0 Valladolid is in mid-table, two points back of the playoffs. Mirandés is the top of the drop. Valladolid comes up big--goals by José Arnaiz, Juan Villar, two by Jaime Mata, and Raúl de Tomás power the Pucelanos.

Lugo 3, Numancia 1 Lugo is in the last playoff spot. Numancia is four places but only one point above the drop. Joselu gives Lugo the lead at 14', Íñigo Pérez ties at 16, and then Marcelo Djalo at 48' and Joselu at 65' finish it off for Lugo.

Zaragoza 2, Oviedo 1 Game of the Week :?: Two teams with a proud First-Division tradition, both fallen on hard times, meet in the Romareda. Zaragoza is in 14th place, but is only five points back of fifth-place Oviedo. Oviedo has lost big in their last two road games--4-0 in Huesca and 5-1 in Alcorcón. Angel Rodríguez gives Zaragoza a lead of 2-0 with goals at 18' and 51' against an Oviedo team with 10 men since Verdés saw red at 44'. Varela made it close for Oviedo at 86', but too little, too late as Zaragoza prevails.

Up, up and away: Week 19 starts Friday

Reus 0, Elche 1 Reus is in the last playoff spot, four points ahead of 12th-place Elche. Guillermo scores at 46' to move Elche further up the ranking and probably to knock Reus out of the last playoff spot.

Sat. 17 Dec.

Getafe 3, Valladolid 1 Getafe has been on a roll, although they let a 0-2 lead get away at Elche last weekend. They're two points shy of an automatic promotion spot. Valladolid is in mid-table, just three points back of Geta. Antón at 54' and Pacheco at 60' give Geta a 2-0 lead. Juan Villar cuts it to 2-1 at 76', but Jorge Molina ices it at 77' for Geta. Geta, for the moment at least, moves into second place.

18:00

Tenerife 2, Alcorcón 0 Tete, in lower mid-table four points above the drop, is still unbeaten at home. Alcor is one point back of Tete. Diedhiou at 26' and Aarón Ñíguez at 88' give Tete the 2-0 win.

Lugo 1, Huesca 1 Lugo, in fifth place, is one point and three places ahead of Huesca. Lugo takes the lead at 18' on a goal by Melero; Joselu ties with a pk at 88' for Lugo.

Oviedo 1, Córdoba 2 Oviedo is ninth; they can't win for losin' on the road, but they're very tough at home. Córdoba is 16th, three points above the drop, in what has turned into a very disappointing season for them. Córdoba goes up 2-0 on goals by Javi Galán at 21' and Borja Domínguez at 47'; Linares cuts the margin at 89' for Oviedo.

Girona 4, Nástic 2 Girona is second--an automatic promotion spot; they should beat Nástic to retain that ranking. Nástic is dead last, four points shy of the lowest team not in the drop. Ike Uche gives Nástic the lead at 26' with a pk--0-1. Longo ties for Girona at 39'; Tejera puts Nástic back on top at 42'; Juanpe ties at 2-2 at 48'; Sandaza makes it 3-2 with a pk at 73. Nástic plays from 75' with 10 men. Cristian Herrera finishes the scoring at 88' for Girona--4-2 final; Girona will finish the weekend in second place.

Sun. 18 Dec.

16:00 UCAM-Levante UCAM is next-to-last, but a win could get them out of the drop. Levante is runaway leader, tied for the best road record in LaLiga2 at 4-2-3. GAME POSTPONED--FIELD FLOODED BY HEAVY RAINS.

18:00

Rayo 1, Zaragoza 2 Rayo is 14th, three points above the drop. My guys :mol: are tough at home, 5-3-1. Zaragoza is two points ahead of us; they have yet to win on the road and I surely do hope they don't start winning in this game.   At 73', Alex Moreno of Rayo puts one into his own net--0-1. Angel Rodríguez ices it for Zaragoza with a pk at 85'--0-2; Javi Guerra pulls one back at 90' with a pk.

Numancia 3, Mallorca 1 Numancia is a point above the drop and above Mallorca, the top of the drop. Valcarce, Novenber's player of the month in LaLiga2, gives Numancia the lead at 16'; Juan Rodríguez ties at 19'; Manu del Moral scores at 45' and 57' to win it for Numancia--3-1.

Mirandés 2, Almería 1 A nightmare run sees Mirandés in the drop, but a win could lift them thereabove. Almería is two points and three places above Mirandés. Almería goes ahead at 42' on a goal by Quique; goals by Alex Ortiz at 59' and Maikel Mesa at 70' turn it around for Mirandés--2-1.

Cádiz 4, Sevilla At. 1 Cádiz is one of the pleasant surprises of LaLiga2 in their first season after promotion: they've climbed to fourth place, just three points back of an automatic promotion spot. Sevilla At. is even on points with Cádiz, three places behind Cádiz in a logjam at 27 points. Cádiz continues their good play--Alfredo Ortuño at 16', Sankare at 59, Nico Hidalgo at 66', and Salva Sánchez at 90' scoring for Cádiz; Aridane put one into his own net at 85' to account for Sevilla At.'s goal.
