Last match in Serie A for Alex Del Piero and probably for Filippo Inzaghi, both scoring at their last appearance. With this goal Del Piero equals Signori (188) at the overall 8th place of best scorers all-time in Serie A. Inzaghi instead reach 16th position, same as Gigi Riva (156 goals).

Two great un-equalled players that could have given still a couple of years of good football, but their teams will not renew their contract. Is not sure yet where they will play next year, but likely not in Italy.

Other players that finished their career in Milan are Alessandro Nesta, Gianluca Zambrotta and Rino Gattuso (final years of play abroad for them), all with great careers and pillars of Italian National team as well.

Another player that may as well have finished his career in Italy is Marco Di Vaio (Bologna), him as well in the all-time top 30 goal scorers (146).

Juventus finished the year unbeated, and it is a first in a 20 teams league.

It's disappointing to see so many legends retire. Many have been in top football from before I really started watching football. Pretty soon there won't be any player from that period left.

I dont know about Javier Zanetti, but apart from him next year the only Totti, Buffon and Pirlo are left playing with over 400 caps in Serie A.
As for goal scorers 3 of the current top 5 will stop (only Totti and Di Natale will stay, with Ibrahimovic behind them if he keeps the pace for another couple of seasons).

As a final comment, the 7th joined place of Roma and Parma may become useful if there will be any penalization of the thems above. For H2H Roma is ahead of Parma so it will be the first team in-waiting, with Parma straight behind.

even relegations can be affected as is explained in the other topic about the bettig scandal..

Lyonnais, how do you determine which players are key players?

Juventus' 42 game unbeaten run is OVER! Napoli beat them 2-0 and win the Coppa Italia- incredible stuff. Cavani and Hamsik with the goals- will they still be in Naples next season? It's a shame they couldn't go a whole season undefeated, but they will be remembered for the Serie A unbeaten run. Congratulations to Napoli though- a fresh, unorthodox take on modern football.
