Lorric wrote:What is it with Liverpool? They've always had that tendency to do well against the top and drop points all over the place against the rest, but this season it really went into overdrive. 2pts per game in the 10 games vs the top 6, and no defeats. Now how about the 10 games against the bottom 5? Let me have a look...

A little better, 2.2pts per game, but lost 2 games.

How about the lower mid table 5 sides? 1.9pts per game, 3 defeats.

The 4 upper mid-table sides? 15pts. 1.875 per game. They're unbeaten vs the top 8. They were perfect against 7th and 8th but only got 5pts from 9th and 10th.
Things get more extreme if you measure top 8 vs bottom 7. 2.29pts per game vs the top 8, 2pts per game vs the bottom 7. 32pts vs 28pts. 0 losses vs 4 losses.

Looks like Wednesday were happy with Carlos Carvalhal after all, they're renewing his contract.

English Wikipedia is usually accurate when it's a page that is updated regularly, but you'd be advised to wait a little before trusting 100% the latest updates. Last Sunday, they had the wrong team relegated from Russia's second division, for instance. Only on Monday it appeared corrected.

Championship club Norwich City have appointed Borussia Dortmund reserve-team coach Daniel Farke as their new head coach on a two-year deal.

The 40-year-old German replaces Alex Neil, who left the club in March.

Farke, who spent his playing career in Germany's lower leagues, replaced Huddersfield boss David Wagner at Dortmund's second team in 2015.

Norwich's sporting director Stuart Webber was part of the Terriers' backroom team when Wagner joined.

Edmund Riemer, Farke's assistant at Dortmund, has been appointed assistant head coach at Carrow Road.

"I had a really good time with Borussia Dortmund, but Stuart Webber has told me all about Norwich City, its traditions and history, and I know what a great club it is," Farke told the club website.

"The more I know about Norwich City, the more excited I get. I'm very glad to be here and can't wait to get started."
