Re: 2026 World Cup - African qualifiers

Halfway to the end of the Qualifiers, the teams which would duel for the inter-confederation play offs spot now would be Gabon, Namibia, Mozambique and Madagascar.

Sudan, Cape Verde and South Africa would qualify for the World Cup with Senegal, Nigeria and Cameroon eliminated.

Re: 2026 World Cup - African qualifiers

Sudan being a World Cup contender (and above Senegal nonetheless) is perhaps the bigges upset of the CAF Qualifiers so far.

Re: 2026 World Cup - European qualifiers

Norway is already 0-3 up in Moldova, could be important since Goal Difference is the tie-breaker in FIFA competitions. If they end up with Italy and not Germany, Italy isn't known for running up the scoreline against the small teams.

Montenegro already equalise, Gibraltar's loss streak will probably continue, they had to hold on to the advantage at least until half time.

They are 0-0-46 in World Cup and Euro Qualifiers, could this be the match where they break the streak?

Guatemala losing to Guyana is a mini surprise.

Honduras and Jamaica will survive since they didn't end up losing away.

Re: 2026 World Cup - South American qualifiers

Remarkably Peru still in with a chance of qualifying according to the latest table; far too forgiving a format.

Don't forget that Bolivia is there due to altitude cheating, Peru and Chile would have a legit chance (against Venezuela for 7th) without this...oddity.

I think it will be either ...

Re: What other sports do you follow?

This track is interesting, McLaren is ahead but by a small margin which means track position and tyre deg matter a lot.

Lorric (since you watch all the Brits), Ollie Bearman would have probably been 10th in the Qualifying if Haas didn't mess up with the last lap in Q1 (got him out too late, didn't ...

Jamaica though is losing to St Vincent!

I've been looking into getting tickets for AEK - PAOK for when in Athens after the international break and it just looks like such a massive hassle.

€16 per person for a "fan card" per person before you can buy any tickets. If you live there and go regularly, ok, but for a tourist it's a big one ...
