Maybe it can come from the Abu Dhabi side, I don't know. Manchester City aren't challenging it: Club statement In summary: They're not happy, and came this close to challenging it in court (they were the last club to reach a settlement), but as the club is on course to break even this year they dec...

Liverpool also lost £43m in 2010/11, but this won't matter. Liverpool, Monaco and any other clubs that weren't in European competition this year didn't have to submit any accounts this time, and next year's FFP assessment will be on accounts from 2011/12 (-£41m), 2012/13 (-£50m) and 2013/14 (due lat...

One thing I do find a bit odd about FFP is that teams are only assessed after they have played a season of European football. The first time you qualify isn't tested. Liverpool's most recent accounts had a loss of £50m, and a loss of £41m before that. Yet they can play CL next season without any kin...

In the context of a thread about FFP, that is a distinction without a difference. When I went to the Allianz for a CL match last year, it was the AG who received the money for my ticket, not the eV. UEFA will look at the accounts for the group as a whole. The sponsorship deals with those companies a...

You cannot buy a single share of a club under German law. Bayern: Allianz, Adidas, Audi are both sponsor and shareholder. Allianz, Adidas, Audi are definitely no shareholders of the club. As written above: You cannot buy a single share of a club under German law. Zip. The three companies each own 8...

Some of the sanctions are nuanced, but in terms of the easy to follow ones (i.e. fines and squad restrictions) Bursaspor - fined €200k Rubin - fined €6M. Would have had a squad restriction to 21, but haven't qualified. Galatasaray - fined €200k Trazbonspor - fined €200k Anzhi - fined €2M. Would have...

So Manchester City and PSG are restricted to 21 players on list A next season. Of those, at least 4 must be club trained, and a further 4 association trained. 13/14 Squads (C = club trained, A = association trained) Manchester City: Hart (GK) A Pantilimon (GK) Richards C Kompany Zabaleta Lescott A K...

Borussia Dortmund are keen to sign Ciro Immobile for €19m. Transfer rights are jointly owned by Juventus and Torino FC. The player and Juventus have apparently agreed to do the transfer while Torino don't want to sell him as yet. The co-ownerships in Italy always strike me as weird, but being co-ow...

I don't think Ramsey will stay long at Arsenal,I read that City are interested in buying him.... Where did you see that? Its not been in any English media. He only signed a new contract in March, and big departures from Arsenal have only tended to happen when players have refused new contracts and ...

Without discounting Villa, I think Allardyce will look forward to his team's match. I suspect he will be (very) willing for his team to form a guard of honour for City onto the pitch as if they were champions, and then match them. He and Nolan will recall a match there where Bolton were utterly out...

Another league where 3 teams can still win it. With 2 matches left its:

Zenit 60
Lokomotiv 59
CSKA 58

Tie-breaker is number of wins, then head-to-head. Zenit and CSKA have 18 wins; Lokomotiv have 17. CSKA host Lokomotiv on the final day.

So bilbao is winning against Rayo 0-2,if they win Bilbao will ensure champons league qualification..... All true; the celebration continues in Bilbao--first time in CL since 1998--and any seeded team's nightmare in the Playoff round. As it stands they'd be seeded, but only just. Depends on who fini...

So far in the knockout stages, Spanish teams have only been eliminated by other Spanish teams. Only Chelsea stand in the way of a perfect Spanish record all the way from R16/32 to the finals.

If Arsenal were to slip up and finish fifth, or lose in the playoff round, a pot 1 place for 2014/15 could potentially go all the way down to Schalke in 14th. That would be the lowest since 2001.

There's a lot of variation in the figures depending on the source. Le Parisien reckons Ibrahimovic earns 9.6M EUR net, Kicker 14.5M net, Forbes 14.5M gross. Makes me wonder how much of it is just educated guesses. Maybe they should all start putting their tax returns online like they do in Norway to...
