Path A: Everyone loves the draw.
Path B: As average as it gets.
Path C: Everyone hates the draw.

As I wrote earlier in this thread, this is not so good draw for Poland since we have achieved disappointing results in Russia, even if we didn't play particularly against the Russian team.

However, good side of this draw is potential second match at home.

Well, bar hosting at home in the final I couldn't have drawn that better (though thats for the chance, obviously the games needed to be played and I wont underestimate Ukraine, Wales or Austria here).

But also, poor Turkey.

I can easily see our match in Portugal (excluding earlier surprises) ending after extra time or penalties.

Poland with an undeserved dose of luck. Russia - Poland will be a super interesting match though, with Poland a bit stronger but Russia with the home advantage. With Turkey instead of Czech Republic this could have been a path full of historical animosity among all four countries involved

I see no favourites in the first path.

The venue is not useless, actually it can be quite important or even decisive in some cases. And these are quite recent matches that matter, from 2021 and 2018, not counting matches deep in the past, for instance vs USSR.

What an opportunity for path A countries. They are all without a World Cup since 2006 (Ukraine) or earlier!

Absolutely delighted with that, home in the final if we get there and we avoided Italy & Portugal.

As Fish said, a great draw for Wales! Let's see, just four months left until the matches! :grin1:

Portugal drops out of the WC seeding picture. Denmark cannot move to Pot 1 any more. Colombia moves from Pot 3 to Pot 2. Wales moves from no qualification to Pot 3. All else remains the same. Peru and Australia still hold qualification places from IPO.

Teams not listed are ranked below Saudi Arabia, so they're surely in Pot 4 if they qualify.

Colored are teams currently in position to qualify.

For play-offs (UEFA, CAF, intercontinental) it is assumed that highest ranked teams will qualify.

Both Mancini and Ronaldo promised qualification. Now what? :applause:

They both need to concentrate on the first task, North Macedonia and Turkey (in a single match anything can happen), then think about qualification.
