League A
Teams which reach CNL finals (4 teams) -> Qualify directly for Gold Cup
Teams which lose in quarter-finals (4 teams) -> Gold Cup Prelims
Teams which finish 3rd and 4th in group stage (4 teams) -> Gold Cup Prelims
Teams which finish 5th and 6th in group stage (4 teams) -> Play-in

League B
Teams which finish 1st in group stage (4 teams) -> Qualify directly for Gold Cup
Best 2 teams which finish 2nd in group stage (2 teams) -> Gold Cup Prelims

League C
Teams which finish 1st in group stage and best runner-up (4 teams) -> Play-in

So 8 teams will qualify directly for Gold Cup (4 League A teams which reach CNL finals + 4 League B teams which finish 1st in group stage).

And 14 teams will play in Gold Cup Prelims (4 League A teams which lose in quarter-finals + 4 League A teams which finish 3rd and 4th in group stage + Best 2 League B teams which finish 2nd in group stage + 4 Play-in winners)

I suppose that means those 14 teams in Gold Cup Prelims will be drawn into 7 ties, so 7 winners will qualify for Gold Cup.

Assuming the Gold Cup is 16 teams, that leaves 1 spot most likely for an invited team.
I think you probably meant 5th and 6th.
I don't know why do they insist on invitation team again. Qatar was two years ago...
Thanks for pointing out. I corrected my mistake.

Last time CONCACAF signed a sponsorship deal with Qatar Airways, and Qatar got a invite to the Gold Cup for 2021 and 2023. Not sure if the deal will continue until 2025 and beyond.

But as you said, it could be a reserved place for the hosts (I assume it will be the USA again) in case they did not qualify directly. So if USA lose in the CNL League A quarter-finals, they do not need to play in the play-offs and still qualify for the Gold Cup (I guess in that case the 3rd best League B runner-up will play in the Gold Cup prelims). Or even if other high-ranked teams, such as Mexico or Canada, lose there, they can give them a direct Gold Cup spot as a wild-card team.

Concacaf announces match schedule for 2024/25 Concacaf Nations League

https://www.concacaf.com/nations-league ... ns-league/

Play will begin in September 2024 and conclude with Finals in March 2025

Group Stage draw took place on May 6 in Miami

Competition will serve as the qualifier for 2025 Concacaf Gold Cup

Miami, FL – Concacaf has announced the match schedule for the 2024/25 Concacaf Nations League. The fourth edition of the competition will feature the region’s 41 men's senior national teams and take place during the FIFA Match Windows of September, October, and November 2024. The Concacaf Nations League Finals, where a new champion will be crowned, are scheduled for March 2025.

The Concacaf Nations League will continue to be played in a three-league format (A, B, and C), with the teams distributed into the Leagues according to the results of the preceding edition (2023/24).

The official draw, which determined the groups for all three leagues, was conducted on Monday, May 6, in Miami, FL.

2024/25 Concacaf Nations League Schedule: https://stconcacafwp001.blob.core.windo ... ics-59.pdf

LEAGUE A: 16 TEAMS (GROUP STAGE AND QUARTERFINALS)

League A includes 16 teams and a Quarterfinal round. For Group Stage play, the 12 lowest-ranked League A national teams (based on the Concacaf Rankings) were split into two groups of six teams each and will play in a “Swiss style” league system, with each team playing a total of four games (two at home and two away). The groups are as follows:

Group A: Costa Rica, Guatemala, Martinique, Guadeloupe, Suriname, and Guyana
Group B: Jamaica, Honduras, Trinidad and Tobago, Cuba, Nicaragua, and French Guiana

After Group Stage play in September and October 2024, the first and second-place finishers of each group (four teams in total) will advance to the Quarterfinals, where they will join the four top-ranked League A teams (Mexico, United States, Panama, and Canada). The Quarterfinal pairings will be as follows:

QF: Best-ranked seeded team (Mexico) vs Next second place (2A/2B)
QF: Second-ranked seeded team (United States) vs Best second place (2A/2B)
QF: Third-ranked seeded team (Panama) vs Next first place (1A/1B)
QF: Fourth-ranked seeded team (Canada) vs Best first place (1A/1B)

The Quarterfinals will be played in November 2024, in a home-and-away format, with the aggregate score winner in each matchup advancing to the 2025 Concacaf Nations League Finals.

LEAGUE B: 16 TEAMS (GROUP STAGE)

League B features 16 teams divided into four groups of four teams. During the FIFA Match Windows of September, October, and November, each team will play every team in its group twice, for a total of six matches per team. The groups are as follows:

Group A: El Salvador, Montserrat, Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, and Bonaire
Group B: Curacao, Saint Lucia, Grenada, and Saint Martin
Group C: Haiti, Puerto Rico, Aruba, and Sint Maarten
Group D: Dominican Republic, Bermuda, Antigua and Barbuda, and Dominica

For each FIFA Match Window, matches will be played at a centralized venue per group instead of the previous home-and-away format. This format change will alleviate some of the travel challenges that Member Associations face due to our region's unique geography and allow them to focus on delivering the best possible football.

The third-best-ranked teams in each group will host the September matches, the second-best-ranked teams will host the October matches, and the best-ranked teams will host the decisive November matches. If a team is unable to host matches, Concacaf will reserve the right to select a venue.

LEAGUE C: 9 TEAMS (GROUP STAGE)

League C includes nine teams divided into three groups of three teams. During the FIFA Match Windows of September and October, each team will play every team in its group twice, for a total of four matches per team. The groups are as follows:

Group A: Barbados, Bahamas, and US Virgin Islands
Group B: Belize, Turks and Caicos Islands, and Anguilla
Group C: Saint Kitts and Nevis, Cayman Islands, and British Virgin Islands

Similar to League B, matches in each group will be played at a centralized venue. The second-highest-ranked teams in each group will host the September matches, and the highest-ranked teams will host the October matches.

MATCH SCHEDULE

The 2024/25 Concacaf Nations League will be played during the September, October, and November 2024 FIFA Match Windows. For League A, the Quarterfinals will occur in November 2024. Still can't believe they're using these fixtures which disadvantage the higher seeds. It ended up mattering bigtime in the 23/24 tournament.

They could split the 12 lower-ranked League A teams into 4 groups of 3 teams. Use the same schedule as League C. Group winners advance to QF. 3rd-placed teams relegate to League B. Also, the winners of QF should get bye to QF in the next edition.
