Happy Southgate will reach 100 games. Hope he goes beyond, and that this win galvanises the team.
If we'd lost I would have said there were huge parallels to Euro 2016 throughout the whole tournament, but this wasn't Iceland, the team made an honest effort.

In 2021, two teams won the R16 game 2-1 after extra time. One of them won the trophy, the other lost 0-4 the next game.
We were so close to a full surprise half bracket but sadly England survived again against a "small" team by the skin of their teeth.
I have the bad feeling they might worm their way to a final again.

They celebrate qualifying to the last eight, have every right to do it after this dramatic match. Though I agree with those players England should play better. Spain get to enjoy the experience we just had now. I don't think it will take them as long as we did to find the equaliser though. Who knows though, if that profligacy in front of goal rears it's head, we could witness the miracle...

Mikautadze: a yellow card for simulation, as a minimum. Georgia just figured out that they can earn easy penalties, and they are not afraid to try it again and again. These penalties just kill the game.
