Any change from this year?amenina wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 01:10 The 2025/26 calendar and provisional access list are enclosed in the following circular letter (zip file): https://editorial.uefa.com/resources/02 ... _44_en.zip
The calendar is slightly different due to the March internationals being a week later than this season. This means that there are two blank midweeks between CL/EL MD8 and the Play off round first legs (it's just one this season) - to compensate there is no blank midweek to play domestic league/cup matches in 2025/26 between the March internationals and the Quarter Final first legs

Yeah, the calendar is much better than last year in terms of free midweeks and gaps between rounds.Matt7r wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 17:43 The calendar is slightly different due to the March internationals being a week later than this season. I was just wondering though, would it have been possible to move MatchDay 7 a week forward to 13-15 January instead of 20-22?
I know that would mean potentially harsh weather in some places, but those locations probably wouldnt have hosted anyways with teams being home on MD8. Personally, I would prefer a blank midweek between League Stage Rounds.
I think you’re right, that would be neater and with winter breaks already squeezed (certainly for the biggest leagues), I don’t think this midweek would fall in their winter breaks.
Clearly in some countries December and January are the off season due to weather and it does concern me that we might end up with some matches unplayable, right at the end of the league phase - how might UEFA address this?

Vikingur of the Faroe Islands are the first team to be assured of qualifying for the 2025/26 UEFA club competitions.
After their win over 4th place NSI today, they are 20 points ahead of them, and NSI only have 6 matches to play, so Vikingur are assured of a top three finish.
They will qualify for one of the following four berths for the Faroe Islands.

From 2026-27 season the September and October national team windows are merged. The first one will be from 21 September to 6 October so significant changes are expected.amirbachar wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 12:46Any change from this year?amenina wrote: ↑Tue Aug 20, 2024 01:10 The 2025/26 calendar and provisional access list are enclosed in the following circular letter (zip file): https://editorial.uefa.com/resources/02 ... _44_en.zip
Main change will be around the timing of the league stage starting (a week earlier than under the current system). Assuming UEFA keep the first two weeks exclusive for Champions and Europe league then I’d expect that these will be before the new 4 match international break with three match days (compared to two now) in the extended gap to the November internationalsTommyChat wrote: ↑Wed Sep 04, 2024 10:49From 2026-27 season the September and October national team windows are merged. At the moment the September internationals form a nice gap between the play off round and the league stage. With this disappearing there will need to be a quicker turnaround between the league stage draw and it kicking off, with probably only one “blank” midweek (able to be used for domestic league/cup matches) between these two stages, so only 10 days between the fixture dates being announced on the Saturday after the draw and the first champions league stage fixtures
