Best thing that could happen after Sky's circlejerking of Norris and constant pushing for "McLaren should give him priority" for the last month.

I don't care if they're the British broadcaster, they have very high infuence in the global F1 media and narratives.
And the thing of "your cars passed the rules but still we are changing the rules mid season"? When it was Red Bull and Ferrari (flexible wings), they had to change regulations.
Now since its McLaren and Mercedes and 3 and 1/2 British drivers, they don't want mid season changes.

Wait. I thought you thought it was stupid they didn't give Norris priority?

And it was stupid. But even more stupid is sky. They always go to far (just remember the 2021 Christmas ad celebrating Verstappen into the wall at 51G).

If Norris does not wake up McLaren will give the priority... to Piastri from 2025.
F1 is a cruel world.

Colapinto in front of Albon, Williams was right to get rid of Sargeant.
Bearman ahead of Hulkenberg.

A bit of fresh air is good for F1. I can't wait to see Antonelli in Mercedes.

I am with them here, the 2nd half of the season is the most competitive we've seen in more than a decade. Keep it like this.

Sainz is so fuk*ng stupid. No words to describe him.
Piastri amazing job. Superb.
Ferrari bad from 5s advantage to having P2 on danger, Leclerc was naive on Piastri overtake.
Perez doing great, showing Max how to drive until Sainz happened.
Norris great race.

Colapinto and Bearman getting points. Bearman scoring points in first 2 races with 2 different teams.

Yes, the end of the race leaves me with a sour taste. Sainz attacked Leclerc too soon instead of protecting the position just gained over Perez. He would have probably finished 2nd, because Leclerc was struggling with the tyres.
I'm sorry for Perez (better than Verstappen for all the weekend) and basically McLaren was gifted the constructors championship today.

Norris helped Piastri by cutting off Perez freeing him to attack and beat Leclerc, then goes and beats Max! Thanks to Sainz he got an extra point over Max, but Max is still in a better position now than he was before the race, Norris needs to close in by more than this race by race to take the title. But still much better than could be hoped for after his rotten luck in Q1.

Nice podium for Russell.

However after rewatching the incident i think both drivers (Sainz and Perez) should have done more to avoid it. Race incident.
The true fault of Sainz was attacking immediately Leclerc instead of waiting, letting Perez back into the fight.

Superb qualifying for the Brits, 1st, 3rd and 4th. Expect Max to rocket past Norris, hopefully followed by Norris overtaking him and leaving him behind.

FIA is getting more and more ridicolous between the McLaren saga (the "mini DRS") and the "don't be rude in the team radios" order to the drivers 🤡

Fantastic win of Norris, looking at Piastri it was a great drive. Little bit unfocused at the end with 3 times a close encounter. Max did great by securing second spot. Hulkenberg frustrated a lot of racers, keeping them up for a long time.
Perez surprisingly bad at a street circuit. I was expecting Perez to crash into Norris. Maybe when it was the last race and would have helped Max :)
Has the car improved? Last year Max wasn’t even close to second spot. Does it mean Max can maybe fight for a win in the coming races? Hmm so interesting last races to come….

Finally Norris was able to hold his pole position and keep it all the way. :smile1:

Need others to beat Max though or it won't be enough. 52pt gap, 6 races left, that's only 42 or 48 with fastest laps if Norris wins them all and Max is 2nd in all.

EDIT: There's 3 sprints though. So that's an additional 3pts plus 3 more for fastest laps. So it is actually just possible for him to control his own destiny outside of mechanical issues.

No, with sprint race there is no fastest lap, so with max always finishing second behind Norris Max would keep the title. Just.
In case of a draw it will be Norris as he will have more wins then I suppose…
