2024/25 UEFA Women's Champions League
Lohmann gives Bayern the lead
Codina heads Arsenal level. Bayern had looked much better than Arsenal so far this half, so that is a bit of a relief for Arsenal as things were beginning to look bad.
Bayern retake the lead with another headed goal from a corner by Harder.
Harder scores again from another header from a cross- 4-2 Bayern, difficult to see Arsenal comin back now.
Hat trick for Harder as our goalkeeper fumbles a cross to present her with the 3rd.
Finishes 5-2 to Bayern who look like a contender for the CL, Arsenal frankly don't.

I was going to post about this but you beat me to it. Even worse was the 0-0 draw at home to Everton who are near the bottom domestically. It wasn't just the results but the style of play that had been criticised recently. On paper we have some good players at the moment but they haven't been performing as expected so this didn't come as a huge surprise to me. He had done well during part of his tenure, reaching the semi-finals of the WCL recently so it is a little puzzling how standards of performance have dropped so far this season.amenina wrote: ↑Tue Oct 15, 2024 13:51 https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/arti ... gl74neq72o

better performance by Arsenal last night especially as far as a bit more attacking fluidity was evident although still a bit more room for improvement. One or two defensive frailties were still around though and Valerenga exploited these once for their goal and could have done perhaps a couple more times, but fortunately for Arsenal they didn't. Arsenal improved markedly in the final 20 minutes and could even have scored a couple more late in the match, and I think Valerenga were pleased to hear the final whistle when it came as they looked rather ragged in the final 10 minutes or so and vulnerable to every Arsenal attack.
The key matchup in this group now will be the two Arsenal-Juventus matches, which in all likelihood will determine the runner-up position although things could still work out differently to that in this group with the odd surprise result still possible.
