2025 CHAN in Kenya, Uganda & Tanzania
No idea. No need to "believe" whatever are written in CAF media releases, since they are often incorrect.
The Rwanda media have reported that the CAF have confirmed to the Rwanda FA that they will get one of the two spots: https://inyarwanda.com/inkuru/150538/bi ... 50538.html
And it seems the CAF are approaching Algeria to reconsider their decision to not play, since they want to have more North African teams to participate: https://www.afrik-foot.com/chan-2024-la ... r-lalgerie

CAF are also asking if Egypt are interested to participate.

According to ShootAfrica, Egypt and Algeria, as well as South Africa, Malawi, Gambia, Gabon and Comoros, are expected to play a mini-tournament, the first two of which will advance to the finals. To be continued..."

CAF Disqualify Congo From CHAN 2025, Instate Equatorial Guinea
Congo has been disqualified from the 2024 Championship of African Nations (CHAN) by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) due to an eligibility dispute.
Equatorial Guinea lodged a complaint, claiming that during their qualifying matches, Congo had fielded Mankou Nguembete Japhet Eloi, an ineligible player.
Congo was found to have failed to produce a legitimate licence that would have allowed the athlete to play.
Because of this, CAF has ruled that Equatorial Guinea has won both the home and away games, giving them a 3-0 victory and a tournament berth.
A $10,000 punishment has also been imposed on the Congolese Football Association, which has sixty days to pay the fine.
