Women's Champions League quarter-final and semi-final draw: How it works
The top two teams from each of the four UEFA Women's Champions League groups will be involved in the draw for the quarter-finals and semi-finals in Nyon, streamed at 13:00 CET on Friday 7 February.
Full draw procedure
https://editorial.uefa.com/resources/02 ... e_1_1_.pdf
Women's Champions League quarter-finalists
Group winners (seeded): Olympique Lyonnais (FRA, qualified from Group A), Chelsea FC (ENG, B), Arsenal FC (ENG, C), FC Barcelona (ESP, D)
Group runners-up (unseeded): VfL Wolfsburg (GER, A), Real Madrid CF (ESP, B), FC Bayern München (GER, C), Manchester City (ENG, D)
How the Women's Champions League quarter-final draw works
The principles of the quarter-final draw are:
Group winners must be drawn against runners-up from a different group, with no country protection.
The runners-up play the first leg at home.
The four balls containing the names of the group runners-up are placed in one bowl and the four balls containing the names of the group winners are placed in another bowl.
A ball is drawn from the bowl with the group runners-up. The team drawn is placed as the home team in the quarter-final 1 tie.
A ball is then drawn from the bowl with the group winners. The team drawn is placed as the visiting team to complete the quarter-final 1 tie.
The same procedure is repeated to designate the remaining three quarter-final ties.
If a group winner is drawn against the runners-up from the same group, the group winners are moved to be the visiting team in the next tie and another group winners are drawn to complete the current tie. Another group runners-up are then drawn to complete the next tie as the home team. Should a clash be possible when drawing the last two ties, the teams will be drawn and will be assigned to the ties.
How the Women's Champions League semi-final draw works
At this stage of the competition, no teams are seeded and there is no country protection.
The balls containing slips of paper 'Winners of quarter-final 1' to 'Winners of quarter-final 4' are placed in the central bowl and shuffled.
The first and the second ball drawn designate the first pairing of the semi-finals. In addition, the first ball drawn designates the home team for the first leg.
The same procedure is repeated to designate the second semi-final pairing.
Is there a draw for the Women's Champions League final?
A draw will also be made for administrative reasons to designate the notional 'home team for the final at Estádio José Alvalade in Lisbon on 24 May.
The two balls containing slips of paper 'Winners of semi-final 1' and 'Winners of semi-final 2' are placed in the central bowl and shuffled.
The first team drawn determines the home team for the final.

That's exactly the draw for Arsenal that I was hoping for, which doesn't happen very often. All 8 teams are of a high standard, so the matches should be really good from now on.amenina wrote: Fri Feb 07, 2025 13:45 Quarter-finals

Conditions hurt Arsenal as Wright says pitch a 'disgrace'

I agree, and was going to post something similar having watched the whole match yesterday. Real Madrid coped with the conditions better and took advantage of their fewer chances. Let us see whether Arsenal can turn this match around next Wednesday, a match that will be played on a well prepared pitch at a decent stadium instead of a ploughed field somewhere in a remote part of central Spain watched by a few passers by who went in to shelter from the rain!amenina wrote: Wed Mar 19, 2025 05:58 Conditions hurt Arsenal as Wright says pitch a 'disgrace'

I also watched the match and was quite surprised by how awful the pitch was. But as you said, no excuse for Arsenal for not being able to handle the situation and creating very few chances. On the other hand, Real just played "pump-and-dump" football, playing long balls from defense, bypassing the midfield, and trying to have their speedy forwards get into dangerous situations quickly, but give credits to them as they scored two well-taken goals (the first one benefitting from a clear defensive mistake). So let's see if Arsenal can overcome the deficit playing at the Emirates and with the crowd behind them.SimonB wrote: Wed Mar 19, 2025 17:23I agree, and was going to post something similar having watched the whole match yesterday. Chelsea looking unusually under par last night, and their players admitted it in interviews afterwards. Arsenal probably wishing that they had been able to persuade Miedema to continue at the club. I didn't watch the other match but it looks like Barcelona are going to be formidable again this year. Lyon looking good again as usual.
I watched the other match, and to paraphrase a cliche in men's football, it was "women against girls". Barca showed how they are the dominant force in women's club football in the last five seasons, they controlled the entire match and you feel like they can score more if they want. And consider that Woflsburg are among the top eight in Europe and actually did not play that badly last night, it is quite scary.SimonB wrote: Thu Mar 20, 2025 11:40 Chelsea looking unusually under par last night, and their players admitted it in interviews afterwards. Anyway, two QFs most likely already decided, while in the other two, the second legs in London will see the home teams try to overcome a 2-goal deficit.
