Captain Pierre-Emile Højbjerg injured for Denmark, so Morten Frendrup called up instead

Great draw! The match in Athens is just 4 months aways! :bouncy:
The time has come!!

18-year old Konstantinos Karetsas (Racing Genk) has been called for the first time. He was born in Belgium to Greek parents and has been playing in all the junior national teams of Belgium.
I'm glad that many other Greeks think similarly to me; the tickets for the Greece-Scotland match have been sold out. The two previous home matches against the ROI and England were also sold out; Greeks seem to like the British Isles! :smile1:

Funny you should say that only I visited a Scotland NT fan form over the weekend and was wondering what the attendance would be in Athens.

Great news!

Mixed opinions!

Some confident, others not.

Scotland haven't had a recent result as good as Greece's 2-1 win against England last October.

I fancy Greece to be promoted to League A and - later in the year - to qualify for the WC.

Styles (West Brom) got injured in the meantime. Vécsei, Osváth came in instead from Paks.

Quarter-final first leg fixtures, 20 March 2025, 20:45 CET

The tie of the round is certainly Italy vs Germany. The winner will host the UNL finals, be placed in an easier WCQ group, and with Italy 9th and Germany 10th in the FIFA rankings, the results of the two matches will potentially decide who gets the last Pot 1 seed in the 2026 World Cup draw.

The winner will get a easier wcq group?
Slovakia vs Norway?
Northern Ireland vs Israel?
Luxembourg vs Estonia?
I will say Northern Ireland a little easier than Israel. And the 2 other for me it will be just the same.

A lot of injured players for both Germany (Wirtz, Havertz, Füllkrug, ter Stegen, Pavlovic etc ... Wirtz would have been banned in the 1st leg anyway after a yellow card) and Italy. Still not a fan of the NL, but under Nagelsmann it's fun again to watch the team in any competition, including friendlies. At least since the EURO. And yeah, the situation with the easier quali group for the winner is interesting. Burkardt from Mainz could be our striker in this game.

Italy vs Germany, nice appetizer of the coming Inter-Bayern game.
Godds give 60% chance of qualification to Germany.
UEFA could have set one game of QF in the earliest time slot. What a waste.

Both goalscorers of the Turkey-Hungary first half will miss out the second leg in Budapest due to yellow card suspension. It's quite the enjoyable match, even for the neutral NL followers.
