In the video you posted the GK is well in front of the goal line, so such an attempt to score had sense.

In case of Polish attempt, Welsh GK was standing almost on the goal line, so I have no idea what Zieliński( ) was thinking about.

Indeed, very dull match. Wales were slightly better, but Poland has Szczęsny in the goal, so a goalless draw is a logical result.
