Messi needed 107, Ronaldo 114.
Messi has the excuse of the much tougher average level of opposition he'd be up against, but I'm shocked at the Ronaldo stat. Even though it's not even a bad record, a little over a goal per 2 games. Maybe your man is making it look worse than it actually is.

Rooney did it in 107, but Kane has done it in 71. Machine. 8)

We've always had them. What we lacked is world class player, one of the best Balkan has ever produced, great person, authority, as the National coach, which we finally got in one and only Dragan Stojković Piksi!
True. I remember Piksi, too bad he couldn't show his full potential in Europe, mainly because of injuries. For me Sekularac was the best than Dzajic, also Skoblar and goalie Beara. Good luck at the WC!

Only Hungary survived from the 4 newly promoted teams in League A.
This system of promotion after 6 matches creates a situation that the best team don't always win the group, so it makes it easier for the teams that survive in League A to do so again next time.

Seems unlikely anyway with all of them in pot 2

A great match by the Greek national team; I haven't seen them play like that for several years! Let's hope that some positive results will follow!

at least one of our neighbours is working well. The absence of Italy at WC plays those nations into the hands which never could beat Italy in any WC or even EC mainly England and Germany and this almost since 100 years. Publicly they regret the absence of Italy for Qatar but secretly they are very happy about it! that's called hypocrisy.
Only one...? :fingal:
exactly only one victory after penalties!
Lets start with Italy vs Germany to clarify it:
WC's - 3 wins of Italy and what is even more important all 3 matches in SF (2) and Final (1) plus 2 draws in GS and 2nd round in total (3-2-0)
Euro Championships:
the only victory of Germany on 2.7.2016 - 7:6 after penalties in QF. This was the only victory in about 90 yrs of WC and Euro history from Germany vs Italy! plus 1 SF victory from Italy in 2012 plus 2 draws just in grouphase equals (1-2-1)

even more sad the balance of England vs Italy:
WC's - most of matchtes are played just in WC qualifiers with only 1 win England in Nov. 1977. At WC's just 2:0 victories for Italy. Thus (2-0-0) in favour Italy.
Euro Championships:
3:0 victories for Italy (2 of them after penalties) thus: (3-0-0) or 1-2-0 before penalties however you want to see it.

In Nations League Italy reached the final 4 already 2 times (England 1 time and Germany 0). But no matches so far in final 4 only in GS amongst them.

So in almost 100 yrs (exactly 92 yrs) Italy lost only one match at WC and Euro after penalties against Germany and NONE after 90 mins ever.

Scotland not doing too badly. :grin1:

We hit on this revolutionary idea, where the team pass the ball to each other and try to score goals. Incredibly, this insane idea has improved our team considerably.

:rollfloor:

Genuinely, though, the improvement from a few years ago is incredible.
