Atromitos - Volos 0-2
Panaitolikos - Olympiacos 0-2
Ionikos - PAS Giannina 2-2
PAOK - Asteras Tripolis 2-2
Panathinaikos - Aris 1-0
Levadiakos - AEK 0-2
OFI - Lamia 0-0

Standings:

Panathinaikos......9-0-0.....27
AEK..................7-0-2......21
Volos.................6-2-1.....20
Olympiacos.........5-2-2......17
PAOK................4-4-1......16
Aris..................4-1-4.....13
-----------------------------------------
Atromitos...........3-2-4......11
Panaitolikos........3-2-4......11
Asteras Tripolis.....1-6-2.....9
Lamia................1-5-3.....8
OFI....................1-3-5....6
PAS Giannina........1-3-5.....6
Levadiakos..........0-3-6.....3
Ionikos...............0-3-6.....3

- Panathinaikos remains faultless, with their most difficult win so far, subduing Aris in 91'. They have conceded only 2 goals in 9 matches.
- Olympiacos and AEK did not have much trouble against Panaitolikos and Levadiakos, who were toothless.
- PAOK dropped more points to a "small" club, in fact they equalized Asteras Tripolis in the last minute of the match.
- Volos beat Atromitos too, have a 9 points cushion from the other minnows and are now the firm favourites for top 6.

He will be replaced, according to Lithuanian media, by a coach that @nogomet and the other Croatian members of the forum hold in high esteem: Valdas Dambrauskas.
It's official, Valdas Dabrauskas is OFI's new coach.
OFI becomes the 5th club after Volos, Olympiacos, Aris and Levadiakos to change their manager.

MD 10

Ionikos - Panaitolikos 1-1
Volos - Panathinaikos 1-5
Olympiacos - Lamia 2-0
Levadiakos - Atromitos 2-1
AEK - PAOK 2-0
Aris - OFI 1-1
PAS Giannina - Asteras Tripolis 2-1

Standings:

Panathinaikos......10-0-0....30
AEK..................8-0-2......24
Olympiacos.........6-2-2......20
Volos.................6-2-2.....20
PAOK................4-4-2......16
Aris..................4-2-4.....14
-----------------------------------------
Panaitolikos........3-3-4......12
Atromitos...........3-2-5......11
PAS Giannina........2-3-5.....9
Asteras Tripolis.....1-6-3.....9
Lamia................1-5-4.....8
OFI....................1-4-5....7
Levadiakos..........1-3-6.....6
Ionikos...............0-4-6.....4

- Panathinaikos goes 10/10, easily despatching Volos, while Olympiacos beats Lamia at home. The derby of eternal enemies will find Panathinaikos with a 10 point lead, and if they win it, Olympiacos will be too far behind to recover.
- AEK beats PAOK at home and remain 6 points from the top, while opening a big gap from PAOK too. PAOK's bad season continues.
- Aris is having an even worse season, failing to beat OFI at home this time and have to start looking behind them.
- Levadiakos got their first win of the season against Atromitos. Asteras is disappointing and coach Metaxas might be the next to be sacked.

Next week, the 2nd division starts, probably the last league in Europe to start :grin1:

How come? Was there a lockout or something?

It happens every year.
Pending appeals of clubs who want to be promoted/avoid being relegated in the courts + they beg the state TV for money and delay the start until they get something. Almost all of them are literal beggars who manage to function in a professional setting (and not always) thanks to a bit of state money.

Lamia - Volos 2-2
OFI - Ionikos 0-2
Atromitos - Aris 0-0
PAOK - PAS Giannina 2-0
Panaitolikos - Levadiakos 0-0
Panathinaikos - Olympiacos 1-1
Asteras Tripolis - AEK 1-1

Standings:

Atromitos...........3-3-5......12
Asteras Tripolis.....1-7-3.....10

Lamia................1-6-4.....9
Ionikos...............1-4-6.....7
Levadiakos..........1-4-6.....6
OFI....................1-4-6....7

- The derby of the eternal enemies ends in a draw and in huge controversy. Olympiacos was the better team and could have clinched the win, but wasted too many chances before scoring a goal with Biel in 83'. But Panathinaikos equalized with a controversial penalty given in 97' (of 6 extra minutes) by Danish referee Kehlet. The imminent reaction of Olympiacos owner, and the way it will be phrased and expressed, will show a lot about the backstage and political aspect of the season.
- AEK dropped points in Tripoli against Asteras and failed to close the gap with 1st place.
- PAOK had no problem beating PAS at home, while Aris failed to win and is now nervous seeing the gap to Volos. Alan Pardew is showing absolutely nothing as the coach of the Salonica black-and-yellows so far.
- First win for Ionikos, the distance between the bottom teams is tiny and probably will remain tiny until the play outs.

Midweek fixture following.

The penalty was indeed controversial, in my opinion it was really soft. About timing, it was given 13 seconds after 96' while Olympiacos made a sub in 93' so it was on time.

Offtopic: 3rd division starts next week. It starts that late for the same reasons as 2nd plus a dispute between the FA and the government, regarding to amateur clubs. My hometown's club, Kastoria (1980 Cup Winners) returns there after years between the local leagues and not even playing at all.

What's interesting to me is that, in the beginning of the season, it seemed that Oly would cruise to the title with Šime Vrsaljko, James Rodríguez, Marcelo etc! But reality is very much different! Interesting to see Sokratis Papastathopoulos still doing well at 35! As I have mentioned several times before, he has had a very nice career since 2006 with AEK, Genoa, AC Milan, Werder Bremen, Borussia Dortmund, Arsenal and Oly.

After reading this I took a second look at the table and then understood that in first place is Pana and not the usual.

Actually nobody ever said that because James Rodriguez arrived after the 3rd match when it was obvious that Olympiacos had issues, and Vrsajlko had already been injured twice.
Marcelo is a big let down indeed.

Well that didn't take long: Olympiacos owner Marinakis withdrew his support from the Greek government, called them criminals and his media empire (TV channel, newspapers, websites) is now attacking the governing party and digging up the dirt he was helping them bury until a few days ago.

MD 12

Aris - Lamia 5-0
Panaitolikos - Panathinaikos 0-1
Atromitos - Asteras Tripolis 2-0
Levadiakos - Olympiacos 0-1
AEK - OFI 3-0
Volos - PAS Giannina 2-1
Ionikos - PAOK 0-3

Standings:

Panathinaikos......11-1-0....34
AEK..................9-1-2......28
Olympiacos.........7-3-2......24
Volos.................7-3-2.....24
PAOK................6-4-2......22
Aris..................5-3-4.....18
-----------------------------------------
Atromitos...........4-3-5......15
Panaitolikos........3-4-5......13
Asteras Tripolis.....1-7-4.....10
PAS Giannina........2-3-7.....9
Lamia................1-6-5.....9
Ionikos...............1-4-7.....7
Levadiakos..........1-4-7.....7
OFI....................1-4-7....7

- All the top 6 + Atromitos won. Nothing really noteworthy in this MD inside the four lines. Olympiacos fans had a banner wishing death to the president of the Federation and his family and shouted chants against the Prime Minister of Greece - both were expected.
- Olympiacos vs AEK on Sunday will be the last derby of the 1st round.

Are you Nostradamus @Firnen or do you have contacts with the boardmembers of the Greek Super League and did they tell you the outcome of the match of my club that is now being played? :D
