Group of death I suppose, and I can understand why Inter fans are starting to get frustrated. This is their 5th CL season in a row where they get either Barcelona or Real Madrid. Unfortunately for them, Barcelona look much better this season than they did this time last year under Koeman. Plzen likely to be the whipping boy here.

Prediction
1. FC Bayern
2. Barcelona
3. Inter
4. Viktoria Plzen

UYL:

Image

Expected win for Barcelona.

Their winless steak of 5 UYL matches is finally over.

CL:

Expected wins for Barcelona and Bayern.

Last season Barcelona only scored two goals in 6 games, this season they already scored five in just one.

That's one way to put it, or you could say Barcelona scored more goals in the first half of their first match in this season's CL than their entire group stage campaign last year.

To win the group, to qualify:

Bayern 1.11 1.00
Barcelona 6.00 1.28
Inter 17.00 3.00
Plzen 501.00 201.00

Only one question left: who will accompany Bayern to the last 16? Maybe Barcelona have a slight edge over Inter.

Bayern 6
Barcelona 3
Inter 3
Plzen 0

Next: Bayern - Plzen, Inter - Barcelona.

UYL:
Image

Expected win for Inter.

Barcelona recovered from a two goals disadvantage in Germany but then couldn't keep the lead and returned with just 1 point.

Barberá scored a hat-trick and became the first player in Barcelona's UYL history to do it.

CL:
Image

Expected wins for Bayern and Inter.

Plzen was undefeated at home against Italian opponents:
2011/2012 CL, 2-2 draw vs Milan
2012/2013 EL, 2-0 win vs Napoli
2016/2017 EL, 1-1 draw vs Roma
2018/2019 CL, 2-1 win vs Roma

This home match against Inter was the "most likely" to get some points here in this group, and they lost it.

Plzen is always a slow starter (1 point after round 4 in 2011, 0 points after round 5 in 2013, 1 point after round 4 in 2018), so even if they now lose twice against Bayern, perhaps they'll still collect some points here.

Bayern 1.04 1.00
Inter 13.00 1.80

Bayern 9
Inter 6
Barcelona 3
Plzen 0

Next: Barcelona - Inter, Plzen - Bayern.

What if they don't beat Inter? But wouldn't that still be enough? :grin1:

Probably not. Then their fate will be out of their hands even by beating Bayern.

I was joking about the "no ifs or buts" you mentioned bugy! You are still "not fluent in emoji language"! :grin1:
