I'm disappointed with this Serbian squad... :upset:

They were promoted to the Nations League A, qualified for the Euro for the first time in 24 years, and then Dragan Stojkovic selects FIVE players that didn't contribute for any of this, while leaving out FOURTEEN that did.

Perhaps some of these fourteen players are injured or so, but still, this is indecent. :sigh:

Plus, these five players contain two from the Crvena Zvezda (worst team in CL this season) and one from Backa Topola (second worst team in EL this season). So it's even harder to understand what these guys did in order to earn a spot in Euro 2024.

Then there's also the case of Svilar, starter for EL semifinalist Roma, but not one of Serbia's 3 goalkeepers...

Goalkeepers: Kasper Schmeichel (Anderlecht), Frederik Rønnow (Union Berlin), Mads Hermansen (Leicester), Filip Jørgensen (Villarreal), Oliver Christensen (Fiorentina), Daniel Iversen (Stoke), Peter Vindahl (Sparta Prague).

Defenders: Simon Kjær (AC Milan), Andreas Christensen (Barcelona), Joachim Andersen (Crystal Palace), Jannik Vestergaard (Leicester), Victor Nelsson (Galatasaray), Joakim Mæhle (Wolfsburg), Victor Kristiansen (Bologna), Elias Jelert (FC København), Mathias "Zanka" Jørgensen (Brentford), Alexander Bah (Benfica), Rasmus Nissen Kristensen (Roma), Jens Stryger Larsen (Malmø FF), Mads Roerslev (Brentford), Jacob Rasmussen (Brøndby), Rasmus Nicolaisen (Toulouse), Asger Sørensen (Sparta Prague)

Midfield: Christian Eriksen (Man Utd), Pierre-Emile Højbjerg (Tottenham), Thomas Delaney (Anderlecht), Christian Nørgaard (Brentford), Mathias Jensen (Brentford), Morten Hjulmand (Sporting CP), Matt O'Riley (Celtic), Morten Frendrup (Genoa), Philip Billing (Bournemouth), Maurits Kjærgaard (RB Salzburg)

Offense: Rasmus Højlund (Man Utd), Yussuf Poulsen (RB Leipzig), Jonas Wind (Wolfsburg), Andreas Skov Olsen (Club Brügge), Kasper Dolberg (Anderlecht), Mohamed Daramy (Reims), Robert Skov (Hoffenheim), Anders Dreyer (Anderlecht), Gustav Isaksen (Lazio), Mikkel Damsgaard (Brentford), Jesper Lindstrøm (Napoli), Jacob Bruun Larsen (Burnley), Nicolay Vallys (Brøndby), Martin Braithwaithe (Espanyol)

For 26 players, I would probably guess to add Bah, Hjulmand, Dreyer and Isaksen, and then not Skov.
An update now we know teams will have 26 players. I feel Hjulmand will very likely be in now. In terms of wingbacks Bah has likely surpassed Jelert, so if injury-free, would have been in even with 23. And it's not even sure Jelert is far ahead of players like Roerslev or Nissen as the 4th wingback, which I still think will be included in a 26 man squad. I still think Skov is less relevant with a bigger squad. Damsgaard has played a lot and rather well since my first post, so will guess he is in now. And then the last spot open, with Dreyer and Isaksen probably front runners. With Damsgaard in, maybe leaving slightly towards Isaksen now.
Close to hitting it spot on. Only off on the 4th and most marginal wing back and then the final offensive player.
Daramy didn't recover from injury, so there were two open offensive spots. Would have thought Dreyer and Isaksen then, but the latter spot went to Jacob Bruun Larsen instead. Isaksen disn't finish well in Lazio and Bruun has some similar qualities with pace and dribbling.
Jelert had a poor spring season with a FCK team who lost the title. At one point he didn't even start for them. So instead Nissen Kristensen got the call up

1. Denmark
2. England
3. Serbia
4. Slovenia

Objectively, there's no reason for England not to be first, but what's the fun in not rooting for the fun scenario when it comes to England's eternal hunt for glory? And I like several Danish players - even though Denmark performs poorly later. That's a pure vibes prediction.
Serbia to be one of the eliminated 3rd placed teams, Slovenia would have a chance only in Belgium's Group.

No Maguire, I'm stunned. He actually had a good season at United. So no idea how he goes from a lock to start to not even in the 26. Grealish, Maddison, Branthwaite, Trafford, Quansah and Jones the others to miss out.

Don't know why we did it now either, I thought the plan was to play both friendlies first.

Goalkeepers are to be expected. And how many players did we have play in the qualifiers that are available for selection right now?
