Great chance for Asteras Tripolis to be in the final for the second time (after 2013)!

I guess these two clubs have more chances than Panseraikos, Panionios etc; it will be interesting to see which one will come on top!

OFI and Asteras Tripolis odds to win the cup went from 100.00 before the draw to 15.00 after it!

Probably the greatest chance Volos and Panserraikos will ever have to play in a cup final.

Although the best team in the other bracket is OFI.

PAOK created 42 shots on/off target over 180' against Aris and FCSB, yet scored 0 goals.

In the same games their opponents had 11 shots combined, yet scored 1 goal each and won 🙄

Common denominator in both games?
Out of form Taison/Konstantelias and really bad luck.

MD 7

Atromitos - Volos 1-2
Panaitolikos - AEK 1-0
Aris - Lamia 2-0
Panserraikos - OFI 2-3
Kallithea - Asteras Tripolis 1-3
Levadiakos - PAOK 0-2
Panathinaikos - Olympiacos 0-0

Standings:

PAOK................5-1-1......16
AEK..................4-2-1.....14
Olympiacos.........4-2-1.....14
Aris..................4-2-1.....14
-----------------------------------------
Panaitolikos........3-2-2......11
OFI..................3-2-2......11
Asteras Tripolis....2-3-2......9
Panathinaikos.....2-3-2......9
-----------------------------------------
Atromitos..........2-2-3......8
Volos................2-1-4.....7
Kallithea...........0-5-2......5
Lamia...............1-2-4.....5
Levadiakos........0-4-3......4
Panserraikos.......1-1-5.....4

- The derby of the eternal enemies end goalless, in a result that doesn't leave either team satisfied. Panathinaikos had the most decent chances, Olympiacos had the 2 biggest, and in the end the grees stay not only 7 points from the top but 5 points from 4th as well, while the red-and-whites continue a shameful streak of 7 winless matches against their enemy, and just 1 win in the last 15 and go to the international break trailing PAOK.
- PAOK almost threw AEK's gift to the rubbish bin, but got lucky when Levadiakos wasted a penalty in the 70th minute, and won the match in the end with a goal by Camara, just like against Atromitos.
- AEK suffers a shock defeat to Panaitolikos and drops from the top. AEK wasted a lot of chances and paid for it - they have dropped points against minnows 3 times already.
- Aris continue their good form and catch Olympiacos and AEK at 2nd after beating Lamia at home. OFI is the most efficient team of the league vs their xPoints, Asteras got their 1st win under Makelele's coaching, while Atromitos suffered a big setback losing at home to Volos.
- Levadiakos coach Papadopoulos resigned, raising the number of clubs who change coach to 5 after 7 matchdays.

Football is funny sometimes.

Last 2 games (vs Aris and FCSB) PAOK played well.
Created 43 shots/chances (3 of them to the post) but scored 0 goals.
Worse yet, opponents scored with 8 shots combined and both games were lost.

Fans were angry and the team announced a fine for the players!

Yesterday Lucescu swapped the entire team compared to the FCSB game.
Literally 10 different players, the goalkeeper being the only exception.

The team played much worse and came close to losing.
But luck turned and Razvan's substitutions (Camara, Konstantelias and 38 y.o. Vieirinha!) combined for a goal and a won penalty.
With this W, and due to AEK's L, PAOK regained the top at the standings.

Apparently now everyone is happy 🤦‍♂️

Two Thessaloniki clubs at the top of the table, not sure when was the last time this happened.

Asteras just announced that Claude Makelele is out, after merely 3 weeks in the position.
So, there are now 6 sacked coaches but # of clubs remains the same.

Asteras fire Makelele after 3 matches (1-2-0), apparently the owners told Makelele not to play a youngster they acquired last week because they wanted him to sign the contract the owners demanded first, and Makelele didn't listen to them.

The owner of Levadiakos did not accept the resignation of Nikos Papadopoulos.

Panathinaïkos player and Greek international George Baldock was found dead in his pool today. The cause of dead is currently unknown.

The NL-game at Wembley is scheduled for tomorrow but could be cancelled as Baldock was a regular for the Ethniki the last 12 months.
PAOK is not a club. PAOK is a cultural phenomenon.

Shocking😞 He was one of the better players in the Blades team that took by storm Premier League in 2019-20 season. RIP...

Very sad new to hear yesterday late at the night.
Since Baldock was born in England and was a regular for English teams before moving to Greece, I think that UEFA should examine the possibility of postponing today's match for NL between England and Greece.
I was a shock for all Greek players and stuff, but I guess the same for English ones.
A good football player plays where the ball is. A great football player plays where the ball is going to be.

Makelele sacked after 3 weeks, Baldock found dead in his pool, and this is only the most recent stuff, with a universe of shenanigans to choose from.

Greek football is what the Colombian league must've looked like in Pablo Escobar's times.
