He was really lucky Hoogland has such bike skills and stayed upright. Had he fallen that would have been a yellow for sure. USA messes up in men's relay Canada wins, South Africa 2nd, GB grabs 3rd in the last 20 meters from Italy and Japan.
Italy were first before the last 100 metres but the last guy was too weak...Carlin won bronze.

In Long Jump, the battle is between Portugal (represented by a naturalized Cuban), Spain (another Cuban), Italy (yes, a 3rd Cuban) and Burkina Faso (no Cuban here).
Thiam takes gold as expected. Should be silver for KJT right? Still a prestige medal.
1-3 for Belgium in Heptathlon, everyone smashed their 800m PB in the rain and Thiam wins!
KJT was close, brilliant run by her but Thiam survived and made history, first multi-eventor, male or female, to win 3 Olympics in a row.
Germany will have an Athletics gold - with the last attempt in Women's Shot Put!

Cubans, but not Cuba leading triple jump.
Bronze for Belgium in Taekwondo for Chaari. Small drama, she lost the first round by a huge margin, the second round was tied with 2s left but she scored a point and sent the match to a third round. She was behind for the full third round and she was trailing by 2 points with 3s left, she launched a desesparate attack to tie the game (but a tie wasn't enough for her to win) but then her opponent fell outside the circle with 0.1s left, giving the bronze to Chaari.
This 10k silver for Italy feels like gold - a European woman (not naturalized) in this distance? Wow!
