Re: Polish Football Season 2023/24

Additionally Wisła got 5M PLN (~1.1M EUR) for a final win + 500k PLN (~110k EUR) for previous rounds. Maybe not a stunning amount of money even for Polish standards, but surely will be helpful for a club which struggles financially. More money to come if they get a license from UEFA and play at leas...

Re: 2023/24 Conference League quarter-finals, semi-finals and final

Given how poor AV are away in Europe this season, they should rather wake up quickly to turn around the result. If I were them I would not count on repeating result of Maccabi TA in Greece.

Should be a penalty for Brugge. VAR check in progress.

Re: 2023/24 Conference League quarter-finals, semi-finals and final

I see at least a draw in Italy for them, hope I don't have to regret my unusual prediction in Lyonnais' game (1-1 in the first leg, Brügge advancing) because most of the other guys obviously see a home win. I have Brugge to win 2-1. Fiorentina just scored, so now I need "only" Brugge to s...

Re: Domestic Cups

Wisla won the Cup, a 2nd Division team (apart from the usual suspects Vaduz) will play in Europe! Currently it is very likely that they will start new season as a 2nd Division team also. They can forget about finishing in top 2 and direct promotion to Ekstraklasa. Their presence in the promotion pl...

Re: Domestic Cups

Unbelievable story in the Polish Cup Final. Wisła equalised in the very, very last action of the match. Wisła had a free kick on their own half and after a long ball from GK and a little mess in the box they scored! Moreover, there was a VAR check for possible offside but Wisła player was about hal...

Re: Coach Transfers

If there are no volunteers to coach Bayern, I can be their new manager... or Jackson Harrison would be glad to take this job as well.

Re: Domestic Cups

I don't know if anyone is watching Rapid - Sturm, but I have to say that TV coverage for this match is very poor. I've never seen such main camera angle before and to me it is very annoying.

Re: Polish Football Season 2023/24

On Thursday, at 16:00 CET, the grand Polish Cup final will take place. Pogoń will face Wisła Kraków. It will be either first trophy for Pogoń in their history, or a win for a 2nd tier side, which might not advance this year (currently 5th place in I liga). I checked Polish Cup winners from non-top ...

Re: English Football 2023/24

I've seen the game on Hungarian tv, Tomaszevski "kivédte a szemüket" - difficult to translate this phrase, but he saved everything. I remember somebody called him a clown, but didn't know it was Clough. Yes, it was Clough. The match is also indelibly linked with Brian Clough, one of the m...

Re: English Football 2023/24

Well, I've started out with Tottenham, because of Jimmy Greaves. Then Nottingham Forest after their double CL (then EC) triumph with Brian Clough. Liked Leeds and Newcastle later. Chelsea and MU run by stupid people, like the world run by the same ones. I remember I did read somewhere an article ab...
