Re: 2024/25 access list
Could someone please confirm that Club Brugge could get direct access to CL league phase if they finish 2nd in Belgium and the EL winner is already qualified for the CL league phase via his league? Many thanks. Yes, however, I believe there are a few more caveats. Ajax do not finish 3rd in Netherla...

Re: Scottish Football 2023/24
It's very rare. Thats exactly why i am wondering but idk where to check. I remember it happening once some seasons ago, I think I posted on here. 2018 apparently, from the BBC "With Rangers' unbeaten home record under Philippe Clement shattered by Motherwell, it marks the first time the Old Fi...

Re: UEFA Euro 2028
There are two/three ways I think you could settle the AQ question. 1. Give England one AQ spot, then leave Scotland, Ireland, Wales and Northern Ireland to go into playoffs for the second spot. 2. England, Ireland, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland all go into a playoff for two spots. 3. There a...

Re: 2026 World Cup
No. Slot allocation ratified. Don't know where you heard that logic but it's invalid as UEFA can have more than one team per group now! The "logic" was perfectly valid at the time as it referred to the previous speculation about 16 groups of three not about the current groups of four make...

Re: 2026 World Cup
Is there any chance UEFA might get more teams now? I remember them using the "logic" that we couldn't get any more than 16 because that would mean more than one in the same group. But they can't really use that excuse any more No. Slot allocation ratified. Don't know where you heard that ...

Re: Scottish football 2022/23
I have never seen a team field an ineligible player and not be handed a defeat. Hearts about 4 or 5 years ago. They fielded an ineligible player against Cove in the League Cup groups. The result stood. As punishment Hearts were fined and deducted 2 points but the result was unchanged. Effectively C...

Re: UEFA Euro 2028 UKI Bid Match Schedule and Venues
[/quote] That format proposal is awful. 4 best winners? What a shambles! I have no problem with that. I think the 4 best 3rd is fine! It gives teams an inventive to perform every match! Mmmm, within a week the 4 best places from 6 has gone from fine to shambles! I have had my suspicions a...

Re: CL 2021-22 1st and 2nd qualifying rounds
Has UEFA made any ruling on attendance of away supporters for the qualifiers or is that left to the rules of the country or club concerned?

Re: CL Revenue Distribution
It depended on how many rounds they played before elimination, Valletta FC as one example who played in CLQ1 + CLQ2 before being eliminated in ELQ3 earned a total of EUR 940 000 without the country champion bonus of EUR 260 000 (which isn't mentioned here but might still exist) for a combined total...

Re: Northern Irish Football Season 2020/21
Very unusual happening in the first Irish Cup semi final this afternoon, during the penalty shoot out the Crusaders goalkeeper was sent off for moving off his line too often :exclamation: At 3-3 in the shoot out keeper saves but moved too early, kick retaken and Larne score. Next penalty he faces (n...

Re: Euro 2020
If they switched the games to Celtic Park or Murrayfield they could have an extra few thousand in as they are both bigger stadiums. The SFA had hoped to have fans in for the Scottish cup final but UEFA take over the stadium before then and can't let anyone in cause they will be doing work in the st...

Re: UEFA members who should be in AFC
And finally if we are going to debate UEFA membership should Iceland and CONCACAF not be considered the same issue? Iceland is not considered to be in America by anyone. Actually it is. Anyone involved in the Geosciences for a start. Roughly half of Iceland is part of the Eurasian tectonic plate. T...
