Re: UEFA EL 18/19 - QR 3 (2nd Leg)
I'm taking over from Michael with my Braga jinxing. I stand by what I said, Braga were good last season, they hired well (João Novais was fantastic for Rio Ave last season and his long distance and free kick ability is already making a difference, he scored the free kick against Zorya) and are playi...

Thank you. Shortly after posting it, it seemed certain Jonas was going to leave, making most of the analysis irrelevant, but it looks like he'll stay after all. He's injured, though.emortal wrote: P.S.: I enjoyed your article on Benfica, nice read!

Re: UEFA CL 18/19 - play-off
Big underestimation of PAOK by the market (you can even find PAOKs win at 8.00 atm). In my opinion PAOK has more than 30% to win and almost 50% to get a favorable outcome (win or draw with goals). Sounds realistic... more than 30% to win practically would mean that Paok are a better team than Benfi...

With luck, I might catch the 2nd half if any TV is showing it at Viracopos airport. Should be an interesting game.

Or it would be the perfect excuse for them to ignore these countries even more.forza wrote: UEFA would shit themselves.

Re: Russia Football Season 2018-19
Ufa-Krasnodar 0-1 first defeat for ufa. I'll write something about that game later. Now Rubin 0-0 Zenit at half time. Rubin slightly better, but no real chances yet. Mogilevets' runs forward have been problematic for Zenit. Dzyuba looks like a fish out of water, for the way Zenit try to play Driuss...

Re: Champions League 2018/19 - Q3
Because of the Super Cup I suppose. UEFA once again assumes nobody cares much about the qualifiers, but Real Madrid v Atletico Madrid [again], oh yes that must be in a slot by itself. In absolute numbers, it is true, much more people around Europe (and the World of course) prefer to see Real vs Atl...

Re: Coach Transfers
I'm surprised he went to Legia, though. No disrespect intended, but it seems like a step down after the good work in Liège. He was even rumoured to return to Sporting. Weird choice. Oh that isn't disrespectful. Leaving Standard Liege to go to Legia doesn't seem like a step down, it is a step down. ...

Re: Coach Transfers
Well it turns out that not Adam Nawalka, but Ricardo Sa Pinto will today be announced as Legia's new coach [not officially announced yet, but it's almost a certainty]. Any comments on him from our Portuguese friends? Or Serbs, Greeks or Belgians for that matter [people from countries he coached in]...

Re: New CL and EL Format Discussion
It won't happen. Adding more teams doesn't mean more money, so UEFA have no interest in an expansion. TV channels won't necessarily pay more for more matches, there's a limit to how many matches they can actually show (and obviously a limit on how many the customer can watch) as most of them are at ...

How weird, Messi climbs the steps on his own to receive the trophy while his teammates wait on the pitch.
