Today's games--Sat. 11 June

Second leg of semifinals--playoffs for promotion to Second Division (two teams to be promoted; two more semifinals tomorrow)

Castilla 0, Lleida 3 (0-1) At 29', Carlos Abad of Castilla sees red. At 31', Marc Martínez gives Lleida the lead with a pk. At the half, Lleida looks like the first finalist--Castilla needs three :!: Colinas at 53' and Urko Arroyo at 68' make Lleida a 0-3 winner on the night and 0-4 agg. Lleida progresses--draw for final matchups will be Mon. 13 June.

Hércules 2, Toledo 2 (1-0) Game on in the Rico Pérez  :!: Hércules went up 3-0 on agg. on goals by David Mainz at 2' and Alex Muñoz at 23', but Toledo came back behind Mikel Fernández at 28' and Roberto García at 45'. Aggregate at the half: 3-2; one more would qualify Toledo for a semifinal spot. But it ends 2-2 on the night, 3-2 on agg., so Hércules will be in the draw on Monday for a final spot.

Second leg of semifinal--playoffs for promotion to First Division

Nástic 2, Osasuna 3 (1-3) Naranjo makes it "game on" for Nástic at 8', but David García ties it on the night, thereby restoring Osasuna's two-goal advantage, at 32'--1-1 at the half and 2-4 agg. At 54', Javier Flano of Osasuna makes it 1-2 on the night, so Nastic must score four or they're out :!: And Mikel Merino makes it 1-3 for Osasuna at 74', so Osasuna will meet the survivor of tomorrow's Girona-Córdoba matchup--Córdoba won the first leg 2-1. Juan Muñiz pulls one back for Nástic at 79', but it's way too little way too late.

Today's games--Sun. 12 June

Second leg of semifinals--playoffs for promotion to Second Division (two teams to be promoted)

Sevilla Atlético 0, UD Logroñés 0 (1-0) Sevilla At. joins Lleida and Hércules in tomorrow's draw for the Final matchups.

Racing Santander 0, Cádiz 1 (0-1) Alvaro García puts Cádiz ahead at 61'. Racing must score three . . . And Cádiz progresses to join Lleida, Hércules, and Sevilla Atlético in tomorrow's drawing.

I may be mistaken, but I THINK that Cádiz and Lleida, both fourth-place finishers in the regular season, can't play one another. The other two were third-place finishers.

Second leg of semifinal--playoffs for promotion to First Division

Girona 3, Córdoba 1 (1-2) Winner plays Osasuna, who qualified for the Final yesterday. Xisco, who scored both goals for Córdoba in the first leg, gives them the lead at 56'. Girona ties on the night at 65'--Borja García was the scorer, so it's game on in Montilivi :!: And Aday Benítez scores to put Girona ahead on the night and tie the aggregate--if memory serves, Girona would progress since they finished higher in the regular season. Have to check the rules . . . Marca.com says there´ll be overtime if things remain even. So apparently the rule changed back to overtime plus penalties . . . And beIN informs us that yes, there will be overtime, but no shootout--Girona will progress if they're still tied after the overtime. Very happy that they weren't still tied :!: Stankevicius of Córdoba saw a second yellow at 94', and Cristian Herrera of Girona put in the winner at 117'. So Osasuna will host Girona on Wednesday in the first leg of the Final, assuming I'm correct in that the team that finished higher will be at home in the second leg.

From those remaining, I'd like to see promoted Cádiz and Lleida, according to the principles we established :)

Apparently the first legs will be played next weekend--no specifics available yet.

And the Osasuna-Girona first leg for promotion to First Division will be Wednesday at 20:00.

As usual, it's difficult to get "hard" information about scheduling. The following dates and hours for the promotion Finals comes from soccerway.com--my more usual sources haven't made (most of) this information available

Final: playoff for promotion to First Division

Osasuna-Girona First leg: Wed. 15 June 20:00

Girona-Osasuna Second leg: Sat. 18 June 19:00

Finals: playoffs for promotion to Second Division "A"

Lleida-Sevilla Atlético First leg: Sun. 19 June 19:00

Sevilla-Atlético-Lleida Second leg: Fri. 24 June (no hour given)

Cádiz-Hércules First leg: Sun. 19 June 20:00

Hércules-Cádiz Second leg: Sun. 26 June 21:00 . . . Which game would finally end our season :!:

Today's game--Sat. 18 June 19:00

Girona 0, Osasuna 1 (1-2) Hard to pick a favorite. Osasuna has won all three of their playoff games; Girona has lost both first legs by the same score--2-1. But they beat Córdoba in overtime 3-1 to advance to this round. Montilivi will be rocking today :!:

Cngrats to Osasuna, who rejoins the First Division in style, having won all four of the playoff games in the two matchups. Today's win was thanks to a goal by Kodro at 48'.

Here we go into the last sets of playoffs--promotiion to Second Division "A," first legs today, Sun. 19 June

Lleida 0, Sevilla Atlético 1 Final score. Diego González gives Sevilla's "B" team the lead at 27'.

Cádiz 1, Hércules 0 Final score. Carlos Calvo gives Cádiz the lead at 86'.

Second legs--haven't been able to confirm dates and hours yet; at the moment Sevilla At. is scheduled on Fri. 24 June, hour unknown; Hércules-Cádiz is scheduled on Sun. 26 June 21:00 SEE BELOW for update. I've found soccerway.com to be unreliable at times; I suspected that their info was wrong on this from the start, and so it has proven.

Of course, playoffs for promotion at lower levels will still be going on through Sun. 26 June.

Edit: Sevilla Atlético-Lleida second leg listed by futbolme.com for Sunday, 26 June 11:00 CET. And soccerway.com has now corrected their previously erroneous listing. Hércules-Cádiz as reported above.

Edit: futbolme and soccerway give starting hours as above; livescore differs for both games.   Edit: livescore has now rectified and agrees with soccerway and futbolme.

I'd like the biggest club to be promoted to the first League, so for the next season I would cheer especially for Zaragoza, and then for Valladolid, Oviedo or Mallorca. Tenerife, Cádiz or Córdoba would be nice as well. Also Murcia, Getafe, Almería or that small team from Vallecas will be okay

Too pity another pathetic 'B' side promoted to Segunda instead of a lovely traditional clube like Lleida. :(
