See post above yours. What you write is likely the way it will shake out, but some deciding matches --group G--have a while to go, and Sporting depends (at the moment) on Real Madrid-Borussia D. outcome. Edit: Porto and Copenhagen now confirmed as group winner and runner-up respectively; Sporting will be runner-up IF Borussia D. does NOT beat Real Madrid--game begins at 18:00 CET. Edit: Borussia D. wins 1-3 in Madrid.Duketown wrote:Youth League knock-out phase, already qualified:

4 Spanish team advancing and only 1 English and none German
I guess the scene is set for a more years with the Spanish football dominating, unless the EPL out spends everyone.
2 Italian teams tough, guess they can be satisfied with this
No Belgium teams, I feel that's a bit surprising.
2,5 Portugeese teams, 2 Netherland and 2 Danish teams (of one even knocked out a Spanish team)
Not bad
# country
1 Spain 4
2 Germany 0,5 ?
3 England 1
4 Italy 2
5 France 2
6 Russia 1
7 Portugal 2,5 ?
8 Ukraine 1

15 Croatia 0
16 Austria 1

How do you read this?
Overage age players can be substituted (only) if they are injuired or transfers away from the club?
So in this transfer window, if the overage players from 1997 are getting sold, can other 1997's take their spot?

http://www.uefa.com/MultimediaFiles/Dow ... WNLOAD.pdf36.04 Exceptionally, up to three players born on or after 1 January 1997 may be
included on the list of 40 players, provided the following criteria are fulfilled:
a. ....
b. ....
c. The player is not replaced on the list of 40 players, except in the event of longterm
injury/illness or registration with another club. An injury or illness is
considered long-term if it lasts at least 30 days as of the day the injury or
illness occurred. The club must provide UEFA with the necessary medical
evidence in one of UEFA's official languages.
d. If the player is removed from the list due to long term injury/illness
(see Paragraph 36.04c)) and replaced by another player born on or after 1
January 1997, he cannot be re-registered on recovery
Btw. By nation for the 24 clubs remaining
Impressively done by Spain to still have 4 clubs left.
And could have had 5 if they didn't have ran into Midtjylland
Spain 4
Denmark 2
Italy 2
Holland 2
Portugal 2
France 2
Germany 1
England 1
Ukraine 1
Russia 1
Switzerland 1
Norway 1
Turkey 1
Romania 1
Israel 1
Austria 1
I am of course slightly surprised and happy Denmark have 2 clubs left still.
But only one club by England and Germany is not that impressive, and also no clubs from Belgium.
No clubs from Belgium surprises on one hand surprises me, but one the other, they both lost to danish clubs, so that's alright.

I'm dissapointed with Dinamo Zagreb. Last year quartherfinalist (yes, I count that win against Anderlecht and not what happened on the green table) and this season they didn't managed to advance past the group stage. I tend to the beliefe that they are not happy with this seasons result as well.

Well, yeah, they were in a very even and competitive group, to witAnelZ wrote:I'm dissapointed with Dinamo Zagreb. 1. Sevilla--------10 points; +10-9
2. Juve-----------9 points; +8-5
3. Lyon----------9 points; +6-7
4. Din. Zagreb----7 points; +7-10
Their win against Juve on the last matchday kept Juve from topping the group. Of course it's possible to have a "tighter" group, but wow Three points from first to last Change a goal or two on a given matchday and everything else changes too--so "disappointing" outcome, but nothing to be ashamed of

Quite nervous for the match today
FCM - Benfica
http://www.uefa.com/uefayouthleague/sea ... ch=2021240
Benfica seems to do a quite strong line-up.
The best player in the other of FCM's games (against Anderlect and Malaga), K. Riis, are on training camp with the seniors, so he won't participate :/

Ajax didn't play with their best players, Kluivert and De Ligt. This is a strong team!AlanK wrote:Today's games

Again Sierhuis with a goal; his earlier bycycle kick probably goal of the year, maybe challenged by Rigo's (PSV) goal.
