Pack your freezer with Pizza's... wow...
For European club football enthusiasts like most of us here, this will be the best football August of all time. Maybe even the best football month. Period.
Surely it can't beat a World Cup? Unless you're someone who doesn't care about international football, but I know that's not the case with you.
I was talking about European club football. It's not only the best August, but the best month of European club football ever.
Yeah, that makes more sense. They've managed to make it so you can see every game on one TV, even the Youth League and the women.nogomet wrote: ↑Sat Jul 11, 2020 13:14I was talking about European club football. It's not only the best August, but the best month of European club football ever.
I'm curious how some of the teams are going to deal with the players being overplayed as is and potentially not having any break at all. I wouldn't be shocked if they didn't take Europa League too seriously and played it in a preseason mode with some players missing in the early matches.

What a schedule! Amazing!
fewer spots weaker leagues fewer spots weaker leagues fewer spots weaker leagues

This is why there are 5 subs allowed now almost everywhere, and qualifiers are reduced to one leg per round. It's a small compensation, but better than nothing. And they had a pretty long break in April/May.CrabCZ wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 08:33 I'm curious how some of the teams are going to deal with the players being overplayed as is and potentially not having any break at all. Break in April/May wasn't actually a break for many players and it also doesn't change the fact the schedule is very compressed and will be compressed for the forthcoming season as well. Qualifiers don't matter for the most affected teams and 5 subs help only to some extent. If ManU manages to get to 4th in PL I don't think we'll see the full squad in EL.

Except it's not proper football, it's just zombie games behind closed doors. Maybe good enough to kill some time but nothing to cheer about.
The inserted fan reactions and chants in TV broadcasts are getting better and better by the day. So much that I often find myself forgetting that there are no fans on the stands. I expect UEFA to do the same for the Final 8 tournaments. I'd be very disappointed if they use only the original sound from the stadium.
I feel exactly the opposite. These fake-sounds are terrible. I would rather turn the sound of then listed to them.nogomet wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 16:11 The inserted fan reactions and chants in TV broadcasts are getting better and better by the day. Indeed... it would be nice to hear what players and coaches are shouting on the pitchForza AZ wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 16:29I feel exactly the opposite. These fake-sounds are terrible. I too prefer the natural sound when it is available that way. The fake crowd noise is sometimes well done but the most comical thing is when a good shot just misses - the "Ooooh" usually comes about 2 seconds too lateWitkop1983 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 17:02Indeed... it would be nice to hear what players and coaches are shouting on the pitchForza AZ wrote: ↑Tue Jul 14, 2020 16:29I feel exactly the opposite.
