The Danish Viaplay group, which will normally buy it, says the Portuguese producers are demanding an outlandish amount of money. Hope a deal can be reached, so it will be possible to watch what could be the biggest opponent any Danish side faces this year.

This is strange. This match will be broadcasted even in Poland, although this is not a centralised phase yet.
Surprised this is the case, you can see it in Poland.

At the moment I am a Midtjylland fan on holiday.

Do we know anywhere we can see which media right holder there will be for a match.

I thought this page was good for this, but doesn't seem updated correct.

Usually it is, I'm surprised they don't have it yet.

The match will be shown on Polsat Sport News channel.

Thx

So about the match.
If Midtjylland wasn't huge underdogs before hand, and Benfica wasn't huge favourites, much better squad, economy etc. This haven't less.

- Midtjyllands best player Evander injured.
- the captain, Erik Sviatchenko might play, but haven't fully recovered from injury.
- Home match, won't be played at home
- away match won't be shown on TV (I know this doesn't affect the game directly, but nonetheless)
- Spanish referee team
- Midtjylland have played 5 matches in 14 days, among this, about 140 min (yes 140) in an oven
- of this, 1 W, 3 D, 1 L
- Benfica with fresh legs, and only 5 friendlies with 5 wins.
- Midtjylland sacked the coach less then a week ago. An assistant will be caretaker.

- Midtjylland have 5 Brazilians in total. 2 injured, 2 not fully recovered from injury. Juninho will probably be a starter and then have at least 1 Portuguese speaking player.

So this might be the chance 😉

As a Midtjylland fan not much too hope for.
But nothing to loose, everything to win

Quite heavy there vs Midtjylland.
Yes. I'd say a win from Benfica by 2-3 gals more realistic, but Benfica still big in my head since the 60's.

Evander is a big loss but 5 competitive matches for FCM can be an advantage actually. Its the best time to play Benfica, in recent years in the late July early August Benfica lost to PAOK (thought it was 1 match only in the COVID season) and Porto to Krasnodar.

Also, Spanish referee doesn't increase Benfica's chances at all.
In Game of Thrones conquerors always say to the defeated side: "Bend the knee and you''ll live". As if they weren't alive right now.

I'm smarter than it shows. Just don't want to discourage anyone.

Sturm Graz will pay all supporters an entrance ticket if travelling to Lodz. Jantscher and Keitashvili 2 very important offence forces are missing but there is still Höjlund the Danish dynamite left who demolished Salzburg last weekend. These two teams only met them once in 2018 in a friendly (Sturm won 2:0). It will likely be a match with few goals and may be uninspireing too just bet - 2,5 goals!

If it's any consolation, I won't watch the Benfica vs Midtjylland match too.

I may watch Benfica's matches from next round onwards, but not this one, at least not the home match.

I'll watch Monaco vs PSV today and Dynamo Kyiv vs Sturm Graz tomorrow.

It's not just in Denmark that it's "difficult" to watch the match, in Portugal it's also difficult. I'd have to subscribe to a channel that apart from that match has nothing else worth watching.

The major Danish broadcaster Viaplay said that the rights to Benfica - FC Midtjylland were sold by an Italian company, and they set the price 5-6 times higher than normal for games of this size in the CL. Therefore it wouldn't make economic sense for them to buy it.

However, the evening has been saved :applause: Midtjylland's main sponsor, Arbejdernes Landsbank, has purchased the rights, and given them to a local TV station, TV Midt/Vest, who will show the game on their homepage. Fingers crossed that their server can handle the increased traffic from across the country.

Big save by the Sheriff keeper. And now big chance, but the Plzen player heads into the hands of the keeper.
