Grbavica stadium (FK Željezničar) was sold out already on Monday, Sunday was the first day of ticket sale and 11500 tickets out of the capacity or 13000 was on sale (price: 3.5€ south stand, 7.5€ north stand and 10€ east stand). We hope we will start construction on a new south stand (stand where the ultras are located and it is currently a full-on old-school stand) this year but most likely we will have to wait next year. A new south stand would increase the capacity from the current ~13000 to around ~16000.

Besiktas defeated Tirana by 3-1. 4 years after its last win, Besiktas won a match in Europe. The first match is always hard, specifically staff of Besiktas lacks 2-3 football players, transfers continue.

So it's a learn curve as well to play against defensive teams. But Borač had some good opportunities too and enough space for counterattacks. Could be a bit more comfortable in Banja Luka I mean more space as Borač now has to win.
It's Borac (pronounced Borats), not Borač (which would be pronounced Borach).

Borac means a fighter. Fighter from the city of Banja Luka.

Twerrible MD for Swedish clubs.

Good results for KA, Inter Club d'Escaldes, Tobol and Omonia!

Let's see what Haverfordwest County can do in the return leg! That was the first goal by Martell Taylor-Crossdale!

the reason is that here in German language we do not have č and ć and so on and they always write 'c' . I think I heard "Borach" on TV so I translated it then into Borač. However I do know the difference of pronuncation of č and ć and c. It is much easier to find these special letters on smartphone than on PC keyboard.

The Basel defeat at home to Tobol was obviously the shock of the day.

A few other slight surprises. I would say Viktoria Plzen's draw at home to Drita and perhaps Rosenborg's draw at Crusaders.

Kazakh teams did well, which makes me even more surprised at how bad Astana have been recently. They're supposed to be the best team in Kazakhstan and yet were beaten 6-0 on aggregate by Rakow last year and have lost the first leg against Dinamo Zagreb 4-0 already. Yes

It's no longer a shock Scottish teams losing to lower ranked teams. It's actually unprofessional how often it happens, it's not as if they don't have the quality to win the ties.

It also happens a lot in our league cup where lower teams knock out the top division teams over the group stage of the league cup, some of the clubs are a joke how often they get caught out in that as well.

I noticed that both Inter Club d'Escaldes and Atlètic Club d'Escaldes played their ECL-Q2 matches in the same stadium (Estadi Comunal in the capital Andorra la Vella, capacity 1,300). In both matches the attendance was about 200 people. Too bad that so few people watched Inter beating Hibs (four-time winner of the Scottish league championship).

I believe that is the only stadium in Andorra that meets the UEFA-criteria, so all clubs play there.

I read that "UEFA does not publish lists of stadiums fulfilling the criteria for any of the categories defined in the UEFA Stadium Infrastructure Regulations", so we'll never know for sure! :grin1:

2 years ago Tobol shocked Hajduk. In Split, absolute dominance of Hajduk, it ended 2:0, and 5.6 goals could have ended in Tobol's net. In return, Hajduk travels to Kazakhstan as a tourist, leaving their best player, scorer and assistant, Marko Livaja, in Split to rest. :D :D :D
When it was a shock in Kazakhstan, Tobol beat them 4:1 and eliminated Hajduk. :mol: It will be difficult for Basel to save themselves after this defeat, because Tobol is a distinct home team.

Playing away Kazakh teams is always difficult, particularly in the middle of summer. For instance, I consider a 2-2 draw vs Ordabasy a good result for Legia. Refereeing in that match is a different story. I have to admit that Kazakh fans have a full right to complain. I expect that it will be very hard task for Basel to overturn that 2-goal deficit from the 1st leg. It will be harder than against a club with same quality, but located somewhere closer to central Europe. Tobol are currently clear favourites to progress in my opinion.

Buth AEK and APOEL should have gotten a bigger win today.
Let's hope there will be a 4/4 next week too.
Vojvodina deserved to lose if anything for the display in the first half, second half was much better though and 2:1 is not a bad result at the end. I hope they can turn this around in Novi Sad. They have tough schedule though. On Sunday they are playing Zvezda away and next weekend Partizan at home.
