Rémi Gaillard's Montpellier very close indeed to their first French title. Impressive and very solid performance throughout the entire season :).

Montpellier champion.

Rémi Gaillard, a true fan of Montpellier (and former player of the academy!), should indeed be delighted!

They won it!

Given todays events, and how close it was for most of the season, Montpelliers players showed incredible bottle to win this. Well done to them.

Ligue 1 - MD38

Montpellier champion for the first time of their history. They however were very stressed and were close to lose everything whereas they just needed one point at Auxerre already relegated. What a shame that this game has been interrupted twice because of some Auxerre fans unahppy of the relegation. They certainly have not shown a better side than the players they wanted to blame.

There was a final for the last EL spot and Bordeaux brillantly won it 3-2. What a performance for the Girondins who were almost dead at Christmas time. Their very good performance in the second part of the season is promising for next season.

At last, the battle for relegation. No miracle for Dijon punished at Rennes (although very unfortunate with the refereee). Ajaccio got saved thanks to their win at Ajaccio and the loser of the day is Caen defeated at Valenciennes.

It's however highly criticized by the "small clubs" arguing that the big ones are spoiling them.
Well, since OL is not at the top anymore, I guess that there will be less critics. They will find another devil, PSG of course.
