And OM is loosing and loosing and loosing and loosing again. This season is a nightmare...
Montpellier-Paris-Lille in CL
Lille-Paris-Montpellier in CL-QR4
Lyon (most expectable) or Toulouse, St Etienne, Rennes in ELGS
Toulouse- St étienne-Rennes ou OM in ELQR4
OM (most expectable)-Quevilly in QR3
If lyon beat Quevilly, i guess France could defend is coeff against potugal next year.
I didn't take in account the fact that Lyon could qualify in CL but it could be possible if god is with them.

OMfan, i think Marseille is no more interested in the championship games , since they have the EL qualification in the pocket. they are mostly thinking of what to do next year.
The problmem for France will be, that for the CL, Montpellier will start in Pot 4 and Paris and Lille in pot 3 (if Lille qualifies). so they all will have very tough groups.
Defending the 5th place vs Portugal, and regaining the 4th vs another one (Italy or Germany) will depend on how the french teams will take EL for serious. Germany got its 3rd place because of the german teams take the EL for serious, opposite to other natios, France ahead.

Marseille will need two more wins for reasons beyond European qualification. 5 times in the last decade the relegation line has been above 40 points, and if 18th is on 33 with 32 played, there is a decent chance of that again, I'd say.
I don't believe they'd go down by anymeans, but 41 points is not a safe number to decide the season is done and dusted on.

Marseille haven't won in 12 matches! Including 8 losses out of the last 10! A bit similar to Liverpool's scenario- who despite winning the league cup and getting an EL spot- our league form has been dreadful. We have won 2 in 11, and lost 7 of them!
Inter have only won 3 in 14 matches (though they've won 3 in 7 now and are a bit more 'normal')- so you could say many bigger teams in their respectable league are having a bad patch... but Marseille's is something else! If they don't pass 45-50pts then surely that is one of their worst ever seasons?

Hola.
I'm not looking for relegation, even if OM loose every games, OM would not be relegates. There's a 8 points gap but more important, there are 10 teams behind us.
@Malko; please stop always writing that france could fight Italy or Germany.
That's not the truth.
After quatarian comes in Paris it looks like some Emiraties or such investissor could come in Lille or Lyon.
M. Seydoux Lille chairman told it's not the truth but we heard the same thing in Paris before.
M. Aulas Lyon president is looking for such people to help Lyon to come back as a top team in europe.
We already have Russian investissor in Monaco who could compete in the futur with Paris sg (could the be promoted after fighting against relegation most of this season in L2?)
So I hope that the power of French L1 could grow in the future. The new stadiums of the top teams will help the clubs in that way. Every top teams in France will have new or rebuilt stadium in the 2 next years.
Lille osc will be the first at the openning of next season in august. Their Arena is almost done and beautiful:

Let's wait for the others and hope our league could follow German example.

Presently french team can beat the german an italian teams. Its vs the lower teams they often do not do the necessary.......if that will be the case, they'll take place 4 or 3 again.
It would be great if 2 or 3 other clubs could have the necessary money to built teams whioch can reach the semi-finals of CL.

I think you should concentrate on the threat from Russia and Ukraine, rather than thinking of Italy or Germany

Personally I'd say you can't take French teams as superior to German if they dont take EL seriously, as that betrays an inner snobbishness to the lower competition which hurts them in the end. If the reason someone is worse off in the rankings is because they couldn't be bothered with half the work, they still don't overtake someone who attempted all of it!
Similar between English and Spanish.

michael, you are right. and exactly Thierry Roland, a well known football-reporter on french TV did say that the teams which qualify for EL should play it at 100%, otherwise they should let another team play it. Its very well known in France, that EL is (lige Coupe de la Ligue) only 3rd choice for most teams, the first beeing the Ligue1 for all, and the CL for some of them, which have to play CL for their financial balance. (PSG,OL,OM).
Now, an example, concerning Marseille.
they should play the EL like if it was the CL. Also for their own club coefficient to avoid a low pot next season if they qualify for CL.....a good EL season could put them in Pot 2 then, a bad, in Pot 3 or even 4.

Coupe de France - Final
OLYMPIQUE LYONNAIS - US QUEVILLY 1-0
Lisandro 28'
The logic was respected in the final of the Coupe de France with the win of Lyon, without shining, who ended the dream of enthusiasts Quevilly (1-0). The Normans offered a spirited resistance but faced stronger Lyonnais, but not necessarily compelling, in a pleasant game. The season of the OL is saved.
The Normans can be proud of their performance. They have not fallen against the ogre Lyon (1-0). They can even feed some regret, since the U.S. Quevilly has lost "only" one. A goal by Lisandro Lopez after half an hour, at the height of the domination of Lyon. OL, significantly better in the first period, got several clear chances, with a post of the Argentine and a superb action of Alexandre Lacazette saved off the line by Frederic Weis. Quevilly had yet started the match with a bang, offering even the first corner of the game, before losing momentum.
Stade de France completely Norman
This is especially in the second period the Normans can be angry, when put together to block, they have almost equal footing with demobilized Lyonnais . The fine shot of Anthony Laup, deflected by Hugo Lloris on the bar, gave hope to the Stade de France fully committed to the cause of the Normans. After their boring final of the League Cup lost to Marseille (0-1), Remi Garde men eventually fall back into their through. And Yoann Gourcuff, back as a starter, has not really made the difference.
OL but nevertheless imposed its law and won a trophy, their first in four years, which saves a disappointing season. Good player, however, Cris invited Gregory Beaugrard, captain Quevilly, to lift the trophy with him. A great way for fans to close this enchanted moment, before plunging back into the daily National (level 3), where they still have to fight to avoid relegation. The magic of the Cup has gone ...
LYON: Lloris - Réveillère, Cris (c), Lovren (B.Koné 18'), Cissokho - Gonalons, Källström - Lacazette, Gourcuff (Grenier 67'), Lisandro - Gomis (Briand 82')
QUEVILLY: El Kharroubi - Vardin, Weis, Beaugrard (c), Vanoukia - Diarra (Oujabi 77'), Jouan - Laup (Ayina 82'), Valéro (Herouat 57'), Capelle - Collinet
