Saburtalo is in the cup final so third place may be important.
Totally forgot the cup. I hope Batumi win it and both Gori and Kutaisi qualify for Europe,

As I predicted Torpedo lost the third place. looking at the schedule their chances are now purely theoretical.

Isloč-Energetik 3:2
Sluck-Šahter 3:2
Torpedo BelAZ-Minsk 1:0
Slavia-Gomel 0:0
Belšina-Dinamo M 0:4
Smorgon-Dinamo B 3:1
BATE-Neman 3:2

It was good match in snowy Minsk actually. Energetik took the early lead after a deflected pass and a shot from the distance, but Isloč soon equalised with a great volley by Guz. The visiting team did not give up though and they retook the lead just before the halftime with a precise lob. Isloč played really bad in the first half, but they achieved what they wanted in the second with two more goals from the close range. In the end the result was deserved and now Energetik has to hope for a miracle in the last match. Meanwhile the match of the round should be played between BATE and Neman, but the latter did not seem to be too motivated in the closing minutes, so BATE won with two late goals (a goal and an own goal actually). To me it seems a bit unfair, that the matches were not played simultaneously, so Neman played for nothing against BATE, while Isloč and Belšina had to fight tooth and nail against their opposition. Dinamo Minsk won easily in Boburisk and expectedly became champions.

Dnepr was promoted, while Vitebsk will go to the play-offs.

So in the last round Torpedo needs a point at Dinamo Batumi or hope for a surprise in Gori... The latter will be the match to watch, as both teams need the win.

TNS cruise to another title in Cymru Premier! They already have a 12-point lead against Connah's Quay (after 16 MDs). Newtown does well on third place.

Barry Town United has 2 wins and 1 draw in the last 4 MDs and they climb to 9th position.

Colwyn Bay vs Connah's Quay today; let's see if the Seagulls can get their third win in a row!

Astana - Ballkani 0:0, a bit disappointing after their away win, but Astana are still in the running, next: Dinamo Zagreb at home and a win might secure the 2nd place

Qarabag - Leverkusen 0:1, next Molde away and Qarabag cannot afford to lose, but 3rd place look nailed

Servette - Sheriff 2:1, Sheriff lost any hope for 3rd place

Fradi - Genk 1:1, next: Cukaricki away and a must win, while hope for a Fiorentina win against Genk

So, in the next round Astana must beat Dinamo Zagreb, Qarabag must not lose at Molde, Sheriff are out and Fradi must win. Tough round.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Astana - Dinamo Zagreb 0:2, it's over for the Kazakhs, they'd need a win at Plzen and hope for a Ballkani win at Zagreb - it won't happen

Molde - Qarabag 2:2, bravo Qarabag, they need only the same (or better) result as Molde in the last round (Qarabag - Hacken, Leverkusen - Molde)

Sheriff - Slavia Praha 2:3, Sheriff are out

Cukaricki - Fradi 1:2, Fradi need a point in Budapest to be sure of qualification against already qualified Fiorentina, if they lose Genk can pass them beating Cukaricki by 2 goals

So, Astana and Sheriff are out, but Qarabag have a very good chance and Fradi a decent one to make it.

Minsk-Isloč 2:1
Dinamo M-Torpedo BelAZ 1:0
Dinamo B-Belšina 3:2
Energetik-Slavia 3:1
Gomel-Sluck 4:5
Šahter-BATE 3:0
Neman-Naftan 6:1

It was an eventful match in snowy Brest. The first half could have easily ended 3:0, but it was actually 1:1 after Belšina scored a great equaliser from their only chance. In the second half both teams had their chances, but it was Dinamo Brest that won 3:2 in the end. That gave the chance to Energetik, which was deservedly losing at half time 0:1 and so needed two goals against Slavia. Their deffence became laughable in the second half and Energetik actually won 3:1 to secure the play-off. I do not want to accuse anyone but considering Energetik was fixing matches last season, they shoud also look into this one. Šahter won the derby in style, but in the ranking sense it did not really matter. Isloč surprisingly lost at Minsk, but stayed fourth.

Torpedo Kutaisi got the point so they finished 3rd to qualify for Conference League. Dila Gori need Dinamo Batumi to win the cup on Wednesday to qualify for Europe.

BATE finished 5th so their streak of qualifying for Europe will end after 21 consecutive seasons unless they win the cup (or somebody who qualified for Europe got banned). Starting from 1999/2000, they only missed Europe once in 2002/03.

Also kind of "funny" that the two teams heavily punished for match fixing escaped (direct) relegation: Šahter, deducted 35 points and leaving them with 9 points, still managed to finish 13th and stayed in the top division, while Energetik, deducted 23 points and leaving them with 4 points, finished 14th and so had to play promotion/relegation play-offs against Vitebsk (3rd in next division). And it is Belšina, deducted 11 points and leaving them with 3 points, who will be relegated.

Yes, a miracle! So Torpedo is back in top3 after five years.

A friend just came back from Batumi and I was thinking about their football. On paper Georgia has good representatives, but in reality the level of the league is quite poor, even the champions are nothing special. I do not expect much from their clubs in the next seasons.

I hope Vitebsk crushes them. :grin1:

Belšina was by far the worst team this season, they were really difficult to watch against stonger teams, but the way they were relegated is really sad.

Without the penalties Šahter would have been only seventh (!), while Naftan would go to the play-offs.

Saburtalo 1 - 0 Dinamo Batumi, cup final, so Saburtalo in Europe instead of Dila Gori.
