It was a historical day for Irish football yesterday. The derby Shamrock Rovers - Bohemians attracted more than 10k fans, a number not seen in the last 33 (!) years.

Very interesting, what's the reason for this newfound interest of Shamrock Rovers fans, especially when their usually domestically dominant team is seeing the back of the reborn (bought by Hull owner Acun Ilicali) Shelbourne?

A new stand was built to accomodate more fans. However, attendance has been on the rise for the league in general in the last few years.

Sheriff in trouble?

Eyes on Moldova, where the first phase of the league was played in Summer and Autumn 2023, with 8 teams for a total of 14 games. The first 6 teams are playing the Play-off phase (10 games in total). Sheriff ended the first phase with 34 points, above Petrocub and Milsami at 28.
What's the problem for Sheriff then? The Play-Off phase started with every team at 0 points! I have no idea why (probably to make the league more interesting) :dontknow:

The bigger problem for the Transnistrian side is that they are in an awful form and gained only 3 points in 3 games (all draws, two at home). So the current league table says:

Petrocub, Zimbru 7
Sheriff and Balti 3
Milsami 2
Dacia Buiucani 1

With 7 games to go, Petrocub and Zimbru have an unexpected opportunity to take the title.

Dnepr-Arsenal 0:0
Dinamo B-Smorgon 4:1
Naftan-BATE 0:0
Vitebsk-Slavia 2:3
Isloč-Šahter 0:0
Gomel-Neman 2:3
Torpedo BelAZ-Sluck 1:0
Minsk-Dinamo M 0:0

The most interesting match was played in Gomel (on SDJuŠOR-8), where the home team took the lead from the counterattack, but then Neman equalised with a strange penalty. In the second half Neman took the lead early, but it was Gomel who equalised this time with a great header. In the end Neman was better and they scored a winning goal by Kravcov after a nice combination. Dinamo Minsk, BATE and Šahter all played goalless away, so nothing changed at the top. Apart from Neman, who is leading, Slavia also won both of their matches.

Cymru Premier:

The New Saints 7-1 Caernarfon Town. Five different scorers for TNS!

Bala Town 1-1 Newtown. Bala Town qualifies for ECL-Q1. They will play European football for the fourth consecutive season. They have only managed to eliminate Valletta FC in the past.

Caernarfon Town, Cardiff MU and Newtown qualify for the ECL-Q1 play-offs.

Big win for Haverfordwest County (2-1 against Barry Town United) and they now have a good advantage against Penybont for the last ECL-Q1 play-off position! Haverfordwest County vs Colwyn Bay on the 13th and Haverfordwest County will almost certainly secure it!

Cymru Premier:

Cardiff MU 0-3 Connah's Quay, an easy win for the Nomads.

Aberystwyth Town 0-3 Penybont and Penybont keeps the pressure on Haverfordwest County.

Big win for Colwyn Bay (1-0 against Pontypridd United) and the Dragons are relegated. They were promoted in 2022.
Colwyn Bay will battle with Aberystwyth Town to avoid the second relegation position.

Arsenal-Vitebsk 1:1
Minsk-Smorgon 2:3
Sluck-Dnepr 0:1
BATE-Gomel 1:3
Šahter-Dinamo B 0:4
Slavia-Isloč 2:1
Neman-Torpedo BelAZ 1:0
Dinamo M-Naftan 2:2

BATE stays at 4 points after this weekend. Gomel scored their first goal from the corner very early and then added the second from a free kick, that I would say was not a foul at all. In the second half BATE managed to come close with a penatly, that was also quite soft, but then after a beatiful shot by Puhov received another goal in the practically next attack and it was all over. Slavia took the lead with a routine win over Isloč, while Neman continued ther good run against Torpedo BelAZ thanks to a penalty. Šahter convincingly lost at home and with a 20 points penalty this will be a very tough season for them. The surprise of the round came in Minsk, where DInamo drew (and almost lost) to Naftan.

Cymru Premier:
No issue for TNS against the club on third position (The New Saints 4-1 Bala Town). TNS have scored 110 goals in 30 matches! They have conceded just 18!
Important point for Aberystwyth Town in the relegation battle (Pontypridd United 0-0 Aberystwyth Town)!
Two MDs remaining in the second phase.

In Cymru South, Briton Ferry Llansawel AFC (from Briton Ferry) has been promoted to the top division with 1 MD remaining. The club was formed in 2009 after the merger between Briton Ferry Athletic and Llansawel. Briton Ferry Athletic last was in the Welsh top tier in 1997. Briton Ferry is on the mouth of the River Neath, where it enters Swansea Bay, and is the first river crossing along the Roman road that follows the coastline along that part of South Wales.

In Cymru North, things look good for Holywell Town (from Holywell, Flintshire) with 3 MDs remaining. They last were in the Welsh top tier in 1999.

In Albania the top 4 teams will enter knock out playoffs for the title which will include a 3rd place play off for the final European slot if the CW is not in top 4. In semifinals if the game ends in the draw the higher placed team will advance but in the final and 3po games will have extra time and penalties. All games will be played in Air Albania stadium and will be single legged in a final 4 format.

It sounds like a perfect format....to increase match-fixing (in the regular season) in a league already plagued by it.

Cymru Premier:

Top-6:
Connah's Quay 0-0 Bala Town (2nd vs 3rd)
Newtown 5–0 Caernarfon Town (Aaron Williams scored two more goals in a very successful season)
Cardiff MU 0–5 The New Saints (a good end to the season for Declan McManus; he has scored several goals in the second phase)

Bottom-6:
Barry Town United 2–1 Aberystwyth Town (Aberystwyth Town lost the match in the end and will battle to avoid relegation in the last MD against Pontypridd United)
Haverfordwest County 3-0 Colwyn Bay (Colwyn Bay vs Barry Town United in the last MD!)
Pontypridd United 0–3 Penybont

Just one MD remaining for the end of the second phase. Penybont vs Haverfordwest County on the 21st to see which club will secure the last ECL-Q1 play-off position! Penybont has a superior GD, so if they beat County, the ECL-Q1 play-off position is theirs!
