Watched only a highlight video, must have been a great final.
If Alcaraz continues in this way, he'll be a worthy successor to Federer/Nadal/Djokovic. Maybe with less competition on the top.

And I can tell you, there are more. ......bugylibicska wrote: ↑Sat Jul 15, 2023 21:59 Not the one to jump to defend the Yanks, but I don't see much difference between the alternative facts BBC feed to the English or Fox News to the Americans. They're a vassal state to the US, just like Canada.

Yes, but I don't want to make more enemies...Even Rome didn't last forever. How did Rome fall? Endless wars, wasteful spending, unpaid debt, government tyranny, currency manipulation, greedy and corrupt politicians...sounds familiar? I've never liked Putin - he's a gangster - but has more brain in his drunken from vodka fart than some of these Western "leaders". Very sad.BurningStorm wrote: ↑Mon Jul 17, 2023 14:43 Watched only a highlight video, must have been a great final.

I would expect that you lose the point if you do like that, weirdanty1975 wrote: ↑Thu Jul 20, 2023 01:06 https://www.independent.co.uk/sport/ten ... 78325.html Shocking behaviour from Toth and Hungarian crowd.
Just caught the end of the Davis Cup match as Dan Evans defeated Arthur Fils 3-6, 6-3, 6-4. We're hosting the group, and it's a record crowd for us with 13,000 in attendance in Manchester!
I hadn't realised this was going on, we already defeated Australia 2-1 and Switzerland 2-1, now this is 1-0. Dan Evans had a dire grass court season, but he has had 3 matches here (2 singles and a doubles) and he has won all three and is very happy!
He'll be in the doubles match too, but hopefully Cameron Norrie will now put away France vs Ugo Humbert.

He lost, 6-7, 6-3, 4-6. Our best player has been a liability, losing both his games.
Absolute must win doubles match. Win, and we win the group. Lose, and we get eliminated at the bottom of a three way 2-1 tie.

It goes the distance again. French dominated the first set 1-6, second set, no breaks, we win the tie breaker. It comes down to this. One will stand. One will fall...
6-6 again. A final tiebreaker to settle this. I'll be gutted if we lose...
This is an incredible match. Never would have imagined the tennis would outlast the rugby. 6-6 in the tiebreak...
VICTORY!!!!!
8-6 in the tiebreak for our glorious warriors!
They survived a 0-40 at 5-6 before the tiebreak.
What a journey this was, wish I could have seen the other two ties. It's going on my calendar for the KO stage in Malaga, I'm not missing anymore.
Special mention to the magnificent Dan Evans. 4 matches, 4 wins, and we needed every single one of them.

They've done the draw.
The one I didn't want. Hopefully Novak will have better things to do. They didn't even need him to get here, he did play and win one singles match, but they'd have won that without him 2-1 anyway.

Deserved victory for Djokovic, but I feel sorry for Sinner: the guy reached the final winning all the matches he played, and in final he meet the no1 playing his best tennis. I hope that the guy will have more chances to win important tournaments in future.
Finland continue to surprise, they have eliminated defending champions Canada in the first quarter final.
Our quarter final will be the last one, at 3pm tomorrow...
