Nope, it isn't...more like :
4) Russia + Italy : 11.500
6) France : 11.083
7) Portugal : 10.500
4) Russia + Italy : 11.500
6) France : 11.083
7) Portugal : 10.500
Next season is a worry we can't fall to 7th place or lower and lose a Champions League place.
sir henri, you are right, but i told only about the battle 1-2-3
Zippy, yes, but France could also get place 5. I hope next season will be a better one than this one, concerning the non.PSG.teams. Anyways, "we" start at Number 5.

Malko, you did NOT even mention the battle for 1-2-3. your posts are an embarrassment to those of us who srrive for accuracy. Anyway, this idiocy of where you start--well, who cares, what's important is ONLY where you finish, especially since you never make reasonable predictions! At least, France is never able to fulfill them . . .Malko wrote:sir henri, you are right, but i told only about the battle 1-2-3

Alank, if only would always consider final results, this forum would not have any sense at all anymore. These results could be read anywhere.
Fact is, that Portugal made the worst season of the 3 fighting for 5-6-7.

Dude, you’re “celebrating” a provisional position, in a ranking that isn’t even 80% complete.
It makes as much sense as Borussia Dortmund celebrating their qualification to the EL semis with over 30 minutes yet to be played.
Why do you want the 5th spot so much anyway?
Did French teams ever had trouble in the CL 3rd qualifying round?
You want to brag about being one of Europe’s “big 5” and the ranking is preventing you from it?

Records and Statistics:
Champions League (all 141 participants - 1992/1993 to 2019/2020)
Europa League (all 215 participants - 2009/2010 to 2019/2020)
UEFA Youth League (all 162 participants - 2013/2014 to 2019/2020)

No ranking has ever prevented him from bragging about France.

FACT is, you started this idiotic thread to put down the Portuguese achievement this season, and it backfired: Portugal FINISHED in the highest possible place to which they could aspire, and France, with nearly everything in their favor, once again came up a day late and a dollar short. Digo!Malko wrote:Alank, if only would always consider final results, this forum would not have any sense at all anymore. These results could be read anywhere.

I really really don't wanna defend Malko in any way.AlanK wrote: FACT is, you started this idiotic thread to put down the Portuguese achievement this season, and it backfired
But I don't think he started the thread. And it makes sense with a thread about 5th, 6th and 7th ranking along with the battle for 3rd, 8th, 12th and 15th ranking
Unfortnally does other have got less attention :/
Thisyear's ranking concerning Portugal, France and Russia....is complete ! Portugal ends last of the 3.
I want the 5th spot to get closer to the 4th.....
SteffenM, exactly.......and the 1)2)3 i give is from this year, and it's the end-ranking of this year of competition........and so, it is the one who will stay the longest time in the 5-year ranking.
If i was a portuguese fan, iw ould look at the last 2 years and beeing afraid of Ukraine

Ahahaha... The battle for 5/6/7 is decided by fractions of a point, while 4th placed Italy is miles ahead. I thought you were a mathematician. Are you trying to fool yourself here?Malko wrote: I want the 5th spot to get closer to the 4th.....
euh even in mathematics, 5 is closer to 4 than 6 is
the answer was of course ironic, even if exact........what about a question : "why do you care at rankings anywhays?".....why are we here ? To care about those things........
Now, concerning 4, France was not so far behind Italy this year......

Not sure why you mention me in this context.Malko wrote:

Yes, Portugal was 7th in the 2015/2016 season.
That season only counts 20% of any country ranking between 2016 and 2020 (from 2021 onwards it won’t count anymore).
In the remaining 80% of the 2016 ranking, Portugal collected enough points to be 5th in the 2016 CLOSED ranking.
Future rankings are still provisional, they aren’t closed yet.
Talk about these provisional results makes as much sense as talking about Liverpool vs. Dortmund with 30 minutes left to play – only final results matter, not temporary/partial results.
But I understand France’s despair.
When Portugal got that memorable 2010/2011 season, the remaining real superpowers lost that year, but any 5 years period they were always good enough to finish above Portugal.
Not France, the “fake” superpower, who realized that they’d have to wait FIVE years, until that 2010/2011 season was removed from the rankings, to finally have a chance to return to “their spot”.
And now that five years have passed and the 2010/2011 season was removed, they realized that they’re still behind.
They’re so desperate that they’re already accepting any incomplete ranking as “evidence” that eventually they’ll get “their” (alleged) spot back.
Well, at least they’re still using rankings where we already know some part, there are others here already without short-term aspirations that already fast forwarded to 2026, Marty McFly-style.
