So the answer of the initial question tends to be Scotland !

Yes. It's this article and the comments underneath that prompted it. I'd been aware of Dundee United's expoits, but completely unaware of those of their city rivals. Dundee is tiny in comparison to the other cities on the list. Population 141,000. All the others are over a million.

It's a pity that 7 of the cities above (and many more other) haven't had and will most likely not have a semifinalist for a very long time. This list is a sad proof of how much diversity we have lost since Bosman and the big money came into football.

Now there are two such countries after Manchester joins the list.

Now with all this talk of formats and
the optimism of Fifa', that there will still be 48 countries in 2026.

Of the two teams who played in the first Euro Champs final, how many countries are they now?

I think Rapid Wien lost to Everton in Europe Cup Final in 1984. Austria Wien to Anderlecht in late 70's. So the 10th would be Liverpool!

Rapid lost to Everton in the Cup Winners` Cup final in `85. Prague was the 10th city.

so what is the exact question? minimum semifinalist in one of Cup winners or Champions cup? Everton made it and FC Liverpool as well.

``Only ten cities have supplied more than one European Cup / Champions League semi-finalist. Of those, only two are in the same country. Which country?``

This has been answered. The answer was Scotland, Glasgow and Dundee. Of course, this thread was opened before Man City reached the semis last season. Now England joined the club with London and Manchester.

It'd be interesting guessing which city will join the club next. It may take a while, but I suppose the main candidates are Liverpool, Rome, Lisbon, Moscow and Barcelona. Which one of Everton, Lazio, Sporting (or Belenenses lol), CSKA/Lokomotiv/Dinamo/Other or Espanyol do you think will make it first?

.....i think 1) Lazio b) Sporting c) a Mockba-club....... to answer your question.......

In France, no town has two Ligue 1-club. From paris, maybe one day 2 clubs may participate in a european Cup (by the national cup or the league-cup, a second Peris team could qualify, others have already,), but they won't reach the semi-finals. Also possible participations...Marseille (Olympique and Consolat)
