Yesterday, a question about Coupe de France came up in a German forum. Can someone help me out?

I know that teams from overseas territories play against clubs from mainland France in round 7. There's a special draw for games involving teams from outre-mer, and mainland clubs can apply to be part of that draw. The FFF covers all travel expenses. If overseas teams win an away game in round 7, they're entitled to a home game in round 8. I hope that's correct so far.

But what happens if an overseas team reaches round 9, where all the Ligue 1 teams join the competition? I think I've read (probably on this forum) that games must be played in mainland France from a certain round onwards but I haven't found any proof of that.

2-2 scored in 125th minute I see. How come they had 5 minutes of injury time in 15 minute of total time?
There was an interruption : a penalty given to Le Havre after an Ajaccio player gets excluded after hitting the referee in the penalty area. Le Havre scored, the goalscorer provokes the crowd => huge fight and 3 red cards. So the 5 minutes were justified.
It was difficult to understand what was going on in those last minutes,I couldn't even make out what the penalty was given for,and then there was the huge fight, the cards, and then when Ajaccio were ready to restart the game,it looked like the 4th official called the ref over to the touchline and he spent another few minutes writing stuff in his book, what was all that about?.............seemed a lot longer than 5 minutes should have been added on.

at the end,
- game postponed on Friday because of violences outside the stadium. Very soft position of the league stating that security of the bus of the players of Le Havre was under the responsibility of the State and not the club.
- Sunday: 5 red cards, 2 per each team (apparently it's not allowed anymore to celebrate a goal when you're playing at Ajaccio, it is considered as a provocation), one for the coach of Ajaccio (who went back to the pitch for the penalty kicks and Le Havre are trying to concel the result as there is a technical fault there), the President of Le Havre kicked in the stand by "fans" , racist insults all game long, etc ...

Who knows what would happened if Le havre dared to win that game ?

I have no word. I'm sad and tired of this.

Who bets that the League will not say anything again and that the game vs. Toulouse will take place on Wednesday as expected?

Found nothing on the regulations, sorry. :?

I have more chance to win the next lottery than a serious decision of the League.

Well, at least I'm not the only one. And I've combed through English, French and German Wikipedia pages plus FFF.fr ... :?

in the regulations, it is stated § 5.2 c that "the conditions of the participation of the teams from overseas are fixed by the Executive Committee after propositions of the Commission".
https://www.fff.fr/static/uploads/media ... 6b6918.pdf
In another words, they don't write anything to be able to decide anything if needed.

However, everything you wrote seems correct to me. At least this is what's done.

If you read some French, I found an article of the local paper "Le Telegramme" (from Brittany) mentioning that two local teams were candidate to play an overseas team and they explain the process
http://www.letelegramme.fr/football/cou ... 714702.php
11 teams from the Dom-TOM (overseas) - 2 coming from the biggest departments Guadeloupe, Martinique, Guyane and Reunion + one from Mayotte, New Caledonia and Polynesia.
It's a real draw but we know in advance that 5 games will be played in the DOM-TOM and 6 in the Metropole.
I didn't know but the team from Mayotte always play away whereas New Caledonia and Polynesia host a game one year out of two.

For the Round of 64 when the L1 teams enter, I didn't find anything but the game always takes place in the Metropole. If the Dom-TOM team is supposed to host the game it is usually played in the Paris area where there are the largest communities from the overseas department and territories (otherwise they alternatively can decide to invert and play away).
It doesn't happen often.

Troyes haven't managed to stay in L1 another time. They have a reputation of playing decent football (not sure that I fully agree) but it was not enough to remain in L1
