Good morning forum; a beautiful Easter weekend here! 3 MDs to the end, Connah's Quay and Bangor City won and they will fight until the end for the 2nd spot that assures Qualification to the Europa League preliminary round! They play each other on Saturday! Third defeat in a row for Bala Town. Cardiff MU continues losing, they have 6 defeats and 1 draw since the league split into two groups.
In the Relegation group, Barry Town has 6 consecutive wins and they will qualify for the Europa League play-offs! Big win for Carmarthen Town against Newtown in their fight to avoid relegation! Prestatyn Town (from Prestatyn, NE Wales) is already relegated.

After a long break, the Welsh premier league has begun again!!
TNS beat Bala Town in an indifferent match since TNS are already champions and Bala Town has qualified for the EL play-offs.
Aberystwyth Town beat Prestatyn Town and they are almost safe. Carmarthen Town beat Llandudno but it will be hard to avoid relegation. Cardiff MU continues losing (this time against Cefn Druids). Finally, Connah's Quay beat Bangor City and they now have a big advantage for the second spot that assures qualification to the EL preliminary round.

Two MDs remain in the Welsh premier league and things are more-or-less finalised! TNS have been champions for several MDs now... The second position that assures qualification to the EL preliminary round will be between Connah's Quay Nomads and Bangor City. Bala Town, Cefn Druids, Cardiff MU and Barry Town United will be in the play-offs (the winner earns qualification to the EL preliminary round). Finally, Carmarthen Town and Prestatyn Town are almost certainly relegated.

The clubs with good chances to be promoted from the two second divisions are Llanelli Town (better known for its rugby team) and Caernarfon Town.

Big win for TNS against second-placed Connah's Quay! Bangor City can go second if they beat Cefn Druids today! This is the only position still contested. Besides that, Bala Town, Cefn Druids, Cardiff MU and Barry Town United will be in the play-offs; Carmarthen Town and Prestatyn Town are relegated.
First win in the league for Cardiff MU after 3.5 months!

Bangor City 1-0 Cefn Druids and it will be decided in the last MD which of Connah's Quay or Bangor City will get the 2nd position in the league that assures qualification for the EL preliminary round.

The matches are:
Bala Town vs Bangor City
and
Cefn Druids vs Connah's Quay

Bangor City has been refused a UEFA License as well as a FAW Tier 1 License. As a result, not only will they not participate in Europe, but they will also be demoted to the second tier next season.

I'd be a great loss for the league

At least Druids (my favourite team in the league) have more chance to end in the El.

This also means that the last MD has no big impact. TNS is champion and qualifies for the CL first qualifying round, Connah's Quay Nomads qualifies for the EL preliminary round. Bala Town, Cardiff Metropolitan University, Cefn Druids and Barry Town United will be in the play-offs [I don't know if they will add one more club to the mini-league]. Carmarthen Town remains in the Welsh premier league.

The second stage of the 2017-18 Welsh premier league is over.
The New Saints is champion and qualifies for ch/Q1.
Connah's Quay qualifies for eu/P.
The Cup final is between Connah's Quay and Aberystwyth Town; the winner qualifies for eu/P.
Bala Town, Cefn Druids, Cardiff MU and Barry Town United will participate in the play-offs (third stage!) to determine the third qualifier for eu/P.

Fifth is the best finishing position in the history of Cefn Druids!

Welsh Cup: Aberystwyth Town 1-4 Connah's Quay. Connah's Quay are Cup winners and qualify for eu/P!

Bala Town also qualify for eu/P! Then in the play-offs, as Bert said, Cardiff MU will play Barry Town United on the 12th. The winners play at Cefn Druids on the 20th.

It is now official (on the Welsh Premier league site):
SEMI-FINAL - Cardiff MU v Barry Town United - Saturday May 12th 5:15pm KO.
FINAL – Cefn Druids v Cardiff MU/Barry Town United - Sunday May 20th 12:25 KO.

Welsh play-off semi-final:
Cardiff MU 4-1 Barry Town United.
An unexpected result since Cardiff MU had 7 losses, 2 draws and 1 win in the last 10 matches, whereas Barry Town had 8 wins and 2 draws!

As I had said in an earlier message, Cardiff Metropolitan University FC is the football club of the Athletic Union of Cardiff Metropolitan University. They are based in Cyncoed, Cardiff and have only been promoted to the first division in 2016 (for the first time in their history)! The players are all [UG or MSc] students at Cardiff MU and none of them has a wikipedia page!

Next Sunday (20/05/18): Cefn Druids vs Cardiff MU and the winner qualifies for eu/P! Cefn Druids are big fanourites imo!

The Cefn Druids vs Cardiff MU match will be played at 'The Rock' which is the current home stadium of Cefn Druids (capacity 3000!). Cefn Druids have been playing there only since 2010 and the record attendance is 1854! I expect the record to be broken in the play-off final!!

Cefn Druids 1–0 Cardiff MU in the final match of the season! Cefn Druids qualify for the EL preliminary round.
This is the best finishing position in the history of Cefn Druids! They had also qualified for EL in 2012-13 when they lost 0-5 on aggregate to Finish MYPA in the First qualifying round (they were finalists in the 2012 Welsh Cup Final, where they had lost to champions TNS).
