The referee gave 4 minutes of added time.
When there were only 20 seconds left to play from those 4 minutes, the game was interrupted because a Tondela player was injured.
And when it restarted, instead of playing only the 20 seconds left, it seems that the referee forgot that 3 minutes and 40 seconds of added time had already been played, and gave another 4 minutes!!

Is he dishonest and simply decided that the game wouldn’t end until Sporting scored?
Or is he just dumb and can’t tell the difference between the seconds hand and the minutes hand in a clock?! :dontknow:

Image

Plus nowadays the matches are refereed by SIX PEOPLE, the referee, two linesmen, a fourth referee and the two VAR’s.
None of these people realized that something very strange was happening here?!?!?!?!?!?

Are they all dumb, or are they all dishonest?! :upset:
Didn't see you complaining when FC Porto scores at 90+8 when ref gave 3 minutes...

Didn't see you complaining when Pinto da Costa corrupted everyone and was found guilty of corruption. You probably still support him.

Mate you are a supporter of one of the most corrupted team in world, behave yourself.

I discover only now that a team from the third division arrived in the Portugal Cup semifinals.

Caldas. They lost 1-0 against Aves in the first leg, a first divison team fighting against relegation.

However if Porto or Sporting win the Cup, there's an interesting race for the last El spot involving Rio Ave, Chaves and maybe Boavista and Maritimo.

Indeed, and even if Aves are in the top tier now, they're not regulars there and this is their very first semifinal as well. So we're guaranteed to have a first time cup finalist. Desportivo das Aves comes from a town called Vila das Aves, from Santo Tirso's municipality, with a population of 8.5k.

Yesterday porto lost at pacos and benfica won on saturday. So just 2 points advantage for porto. Sporting probably too far behind plays today.

porto had bad luck that the conditions were against them, bad pitch (heavy rain fall) and they missed their chances, Pacos scored first and they wasted a lot of play time.

winning shot of Benfica ??
moreover, for the statistics experts, is it the first time that ''the eagles'' are leading the championship?

in the penultimate day at the home of Sporting ... i hope the points on the second are already quite a bit, but I think they can make the sprint to the title!!

FC Porto are favourites now, with 4 games left they're 2 points ahead, have H2H advantage over Benfica and Benfica have the toughest run because of the short trip to Alvalade on the second last matchday. That match matters not only because of the title race but also because Sporting are now only 3 points behind Benfica and would overtake them with a win. Don't forget 2nd place is worth a CL qualifiers spot while 3rd goes to the EL. And then Braga are 3 points behind Sporting and still have hopes of reaching 3rd, they've been phenomenal in the 2nd half of the season.

Their run-ins:

FC Porto:
Vit. Setúbal (H)
Marítimo (A)
Feirense (H)
Vit. Guimarães (A)

Benfica:
Estoril (A)
Tondela (H)
Sporting (A)
Moreirense (H)

Sporting:
Boavista (H)
Portimonense (A)
Benfica (H)
Marítimo (A)

Braga:
Marítimo (H)
Belenenses (A)
Boavista (H)
Rio Ave (A)

Then there's the race for 5th, which may be an EL spot if FC Porto/Sporting beat Aves/Caldas in the Cup final, between Rio Ave and Marítimo.
Right now:
5. Marítimo 44
6. Rio Ave 43 (one game in hand)

Run ins:
Marítimo:
Braga (A)
FC Porto (H)
Chaves (A)
Sporting (H)

Rio Ave:
Tondela (H) (tonight)
Moreirense (A)
Chaves (H)
P. Ferreira (A)
Braga (H)

Rio Ave are favourites here, there's only been a "race" in this second half of the season because most of Marítimo's hardest games are all in the final stretch.

Finally, the relegation struggle:
13. Moreirense 29
14. Vit. Setúbal 29
15. P. Ferreira 28
16. Aves 28
--------------------------
17. Estoril 26
18. Feirense 24

31st MD:
P. Ferreira vs. Belenenses
Feirense vs. Vit. Guimarães
Estoril vs. Benfica
Tondela vs. Aves
Moreirense vs. Rio Ave
FC Porto vs. Vit. Setúbal

32nd MD:
Vit. Guimarães vs. Moreirense
Vit. Setúbal vs. Feirense
Boavista vs. P. Ferreira
Aves vs. Estoril

33rd MD:
Estoril vs. Vit. Setúbal
Moreirense vs. Aves
FC Porto vs. Feirense
P. Ferreira vs. Rio Ave

34th MD:
Aves vs. Chaves
Benfica vs. Moreirense
Feirense vs. Estoril
Portimonense vs. P. Ferreira
Vit. Setúbal vs. Tondela

Lots of drama expected here, lots of direct confrontations, as well as games that involve teams from other fights. It might be a boring prediction, but I think the current teams below the line are the ones going down. Feirense are 4 points below and have to play Porto away, they are the main favourites for relegation. Estoril just got a huge away win against Portimonense to add some interest to this race, but Aves won too while Vit. Setúbal and Moreirense picked up valuable points away. Benfica are next and they could see their rivals escape. P. Ferreira is the most likely team to be caught, they're in worse form (2 defeats in a row with 1-7 goals combined) and have a tougher schedule than Aves. Vit. Setúbal should be ok, they've looked good recently.

In the 2nd tier, Nacional is almost securing a quick bounce back up while the other promotion spot is still very much wide open:

With 4 games remaining:
1. Nacional 63
2. Arouca 58
3. Santa Clara 57
4. Penafiel 55
5. Académico de Viseu 54
6. Académica 54
7. Leixões 54

Next MD there's a very interesting Leixões vs. Arouca.

1-0 Caldas, all tied!

The last time a 3rd tier team made it to the final of the cup was in 2001/02: Leixões led by Carlos Carvalhal.

Aves turned it around in extra time with 2 goals by Vítor Gomes.

Though they were the big team in that match, this is huge for Aves too, it's their first Cup final ever!

Sporting-Porto is 0-0 at half time, Soares' goal in the first leg still giving Porto the advantage.
