in 2017 it collected about 40 messages from the ICC 2017 thread

if by chance this time fails, patience ... i think this competition is interesting because there are some of the best clubs in the world and some of the best footballers in the world

besides, there was already a pre-season friendly thread, I don't think it was more interesting than this ...

Well, it is more or less a European cup plus Chivas
Although it's more interesting than 'regular' friendlies.

I remember a discussion about top teams friendlies and CL/EL qualifiers.
I prefer the qualifiers. Uefa sold the qualifiers out by giving too many top teams free entrance. I am not going to back that up by spending a single minute on these friendlies

Yeah, of course Cl (and El) qualifiers are more interesting.

Oh wait, it's this one. :P

As for the cup, I know you're limited in what you can do in pre-season, but the format is too unfair. There are two big three teams here and Arsenal have to play both. United and Tottenham play each other, why have teams from the same country play each other? They both play Italians in the other games, but Tottenham play Juventus and United don't.

Now imagine if they made this a two year thing. Year 1, group stage. Year 2, KO stage, while a new set of teams are playing group stage to play KO stage next year.
