OBOS-ligaen - Round 4
Start - Sandnes Ulf 1-1
Egersund - Aalesund 3-1
Levanger - Kongsvinger 1-2
Ranheim - Åsane 2-2
Raufoss - Bryne 0-1
Sogndal - Moss 1-0
Stabæk - Mjøndalen has been postponed until the 12th of June.

Lyn - Vålerenga 1-1
0-1 Daniel Håkans 33'
Red card, Mees Rijks (Vålerenga) 37'
1-1 Andreas Hellum 43'

Infront of a sold out Ullevaal Stadium, the 77th Oslo derby ended in a draw. In general I think both teams are a bit unhappy about that. Vålerenga was obviously major favorites against a Lyn team that just 18 months ago played in the 4th tier.
While Lyn is disappointed that they didn't manage to take advantage of playing 11 vs 10 men for 60 minutes.
The first 20 minutes or so, was rather boring. With both teams feeling eachother out a bit. Vålerenga got in front when Daniel Håkans was sent through alone with the goalkeeper, and easily passed him to put the ball into the open net.
But Vålerenga's advantage should only last to long. In the aftermath of a Vålerenga corner, a Lyn player is protecting the ball, not to far away from his own corner flag. At that moment striker Mees Rijks decided to make an incredible stupid tackle, correctly being shown his second yellow card of the match. His first yellow was quite stupid of him as well.
Being 11 vs 10 men, Lyn took over the match. And five minutes later they got the reward. Lyn build up the attack on the right side. A crosser was sent into the box. Vålerenga's Christian Borchgrevink attempted to clear the ball. But it fell down just perfectly for Andreas Hellum to place it into the net on a great volley.
The second half was rather boring. Vålerenga seemed to be more focused on protecting one point. And Lyn failing to get through the Vålerenga defense.

Eliteserien - Round 4
HamKam - Strømsgodset 0-1
0-1 Jesper Taaje 42'
Highlights

Brann - Odd 2-0
1-0 Emil Kornvig (Pen) 29'
2-0 Aune Heggebø 90+4'
Highlights

Haugesund - Rosenborg 1-3
0-1 Ole Sæter 10'
0-2 Ole Sæter 43'
1-2 Bruno Leite 50'
Missed penalty, Ole Sæter (Rosenborg) 75'
1-3 Marius Broholm 90+7'
Highlights

Despite scoring three goals. All from open play. I would actually consider this a step down from the previous two matches.
Especially in the second half, Rosenborg was extremely sloppy. Lots of poor passes. And strugled to hold on to the ball for longer periods. Not that Haugesund bombarded the Rosenborg goal in any way. But it was a messy second half. Much like the last 10 minutes vs HamKam last match to be honest.
I'm extremely curious to see how this team handles meeting a superiour opponent next weekend vs Bodø/Glimt.

Kristiansund - Tromsø 1-0
1-0 Habib Gueye 44'
Missed penalty, Brynjólfur Willumsson (Kristiansund) 58'

Not to happy about this draw. Away against what's most likely is Fredrikstad wasn't my dream draw to say it easy. Especially considering it's in the middle of a rather though program for Rosenborg. With Bodø/Glimt at home this weekend, Brann away on the 4th of May, and then Molde away on the 11th of May.

Eliteserien - Round 5
Rosenborg - Bodø/Glimt 1-3
0-1 Kasper Høgh 5'
0-2 Nino Zugelj 35'
0-3 Albert Grønbæk 50'
1-3 Ole Sæter (Pen) 53'
Highlights

I feel this was a strange match. And a bit hard to know what one can read out of it.
Overall it felt like a poor match from both teams in my opinion. It looked very even, and all stats says it was an even match as well.
But Bodø/Glimt were gifted two goals and scored once on a marginal onside. However, with the exception of 10 minutes after the 1-3 goal.
Rosenborg never managed to put much pressure on Bodø/Glimt to make the match exciting again. And Bodø/Glimt looked very comfortable just holding on to their two goal advantage.
So while the match was even. And that one should see the positive from playing an even match with Bodø/Glimt. I feel a bit disappointed that Rosenborg never managed to threaten Bodø/Glimt more.
I fear that our inability to get to major chances and score goals might end up costing us a lot of points this season. It's been a common trait in the previous matches as well.

On another note. Rosenborg started the match with 9 local players. And one of the non locals has been in the academy since he was 16 as well. The last time Rosenborg started with 9 locals was in 1996 in the 2-1 win over AC Milan at San Siro. Which qualified Rosenborg for the quarter finals of the Champions League.
And it's a team full of youngsters. This team will evolve a lot during the season. We've evolved a lot in the four months since Alfred Johanson took over as well. But I really miss a class striker. And to be honest, some better wing backs as well. Those are our by far weakest positions at the moment.
Still, this season is all about evolving as a team. So any points against Bodø/Glimt would have been a bonus to be honest.

Tromso, really, again?

You make it to Europe and revert to a minnow fighting to survive the season you will play in Europe?

They'll end up qualifying to ECL GS, you see, only for it to complicate their domestic season even more and get them relegated. :dontknow:

It has been a truly horrible start. No doubt. And now we are out of the cup as well. Against another team in horrible form, Vålerenga.

It was a bit expected that we would struggle in the start. New players in key positions and a new coaching team. The head coach doesn´t even have a license yet, so he needs a co-team manager.

I think it will get better. There is a lot of talent in this team and they need a bit of time still, but things are improving. However now they are in the situation where they have to get some points fast or this will get ugly for everyone. A lot of tough games ahead now. Hopefully the goals will come soon.
